Aah, summertime… Is there anything better than kicking back at the beach, cocktail in hand, sun shining, waves lapping at your toes, and… horses galloping past?
Don’t worry, you read right, there’s a cool, new beach party in town, and it’s bringing plenty of summery fun-times with it including all the pretty horsies!
On Saturday 10th October, Doomben Racecourse is transforming into Brisbane’s only Beach Party Raceday, and tickets are selling fast.
It’s a full day of sun, live music, scrumptious food, and of course, drinks.
Think of it as a love child between Daryl Braithwaite’s ‘Horses’ and Bette Midler’s ‘Beaches’. ‘Cause who wouldn’t want that?
With four different packages—general, VIP Pool Party, Beachside Dining and a Barefoot Beach Party—there’s something for everyone, no matter your beachin’ style.
General admission starts at $20 pre-sale and includes beach volleyball, Rave Radio pumping the beats, admission to the racecourse and Beach Party precinct, and entry into the Brazilian Beauty best dressed comp, plus heaps more.
The VIP Pool Party Package ($500 for 10 people) means you’ll live like a boss with your own reserved area featuring a private blow-up pool, tables and chairs and is perfect for hens’ parties, footy breakups or any reason to party, really. You can super-size this package and add an extra 20 crew too if your squad is so on point everybody wants in.
The classy dining route comes in the shape of the Beachside Dining option ($65pp). Enjoy a trackside position while dining on the sand with a bottle of Samuel Smith and Sons for the table. Your fisherman’s dream of a seafood platter will be brimming with fresh Tassie oysters, bugs with lime and ginger aioli, Vietnamese-style green lip mussels and rye bread. Yum!
Or, if barefoot on the beach is your thing then the Barefoot Beach Party ($75pp) is your jam. A beach picnic-style grazing menu and a wine cocktail on arrival are perfect for a spring afternoon at the beach.
