ICYMI; it's 11 days until Christmas hits! This is insanely exciting news, and we believe it warrants extra-curricular celebrations of all sorts. Time to grab your planner and cram in as many Brisbane events as possible before Christmas Day and the new year hit—after all, you only have a few more weeks to make the most of 2017.

This weekend in Brisbane is packed full of Christmassy delights, so strap on the jingle bells and get ready for a holly, jolly time!

A Very Laneway Christmas

If you haven’t got your Christmas shopping done yet and want to avoid the crowds, A Very Laneway Christmas is running all the way up to Christmas Eve to ease your shopping woes. Find unique gifts and goodies for all your friends and family at their totally beautiful pop-up markets, taking the stress out of your last-minute Christmas shopping.

South Bank Christmas Village

Starting this Friday, the South Bank Christmas Village will be popping up for their annual week-long run. Browse through the many stalls selling all sorts of potential prezzies, catch a Christmas film at the Beach Cinema, hop on the village train, enjoy the harmonious carols—even meet the big guy himself, Santa Claus! South Bank is about to be turned into the ultimate Christmas wonderland so you don’t want to miss out on this one!

The Enchanted Garden

If you are looking for the ultimate Christmas-y experience in Brisbane, you have to check out Roma Street’s Enchanted Garden this weekend! The Parklands will be transformed into a magical wonderland, with light fixtures, music, and more fairy lights than you have likely ever laid eyes on. Wander through the park and take in the mystic beauty—but hurry because it will only run until Sunday night!

Thursday 14th December

Christmas Night Market

Head to the Botanic Gardens for the Christmas Night Market this Thursday night. As well as plenty of Christmas themed food and craft stalls, there will also be entertainment abound on the night. The Gardens will be teeming with fire twirlers, stilt walkers and jugglers, all doing their thing to live music and Christmas carols. It is rumoured the big man in red might even make an appearance, so hopefully you’re on the nice list!

Saturday 16th December

Ultimate Christmas Party Cruise

Add a little fresh air to your Christmas function this weekend by hosting aboard the Kookaburra Showboat Cruises’ Ultimate Christmas Party Cruise. Glide along the Brisbane River as you enjoy the lavish buffet dinner and unlimited drinks package. Christmas Movies In The Park

Roma Street Parklands will be wrapping up their weekly Christmas movie nights with one of the most iconic Christmas films of all time. Miracle on 34th Street will be showing at 7pm this Sunday night to cap off their festive movie marathon. If you can’t make Sunday’s film, there will be a Christmas classic at the same time every night until then, showing Four Holidays, The Grinch, and The Polar Express.

Caboolture Christmas Carols

It’s time to warm up those vocal chords, because Caboolture Christmas carols is getting ready to blow your santa hat off with their massive Christmas Carols event. Come by, lay down a blanket, and sing your heart out to all your fave festive tunes. There will be plenty of entertainment on the night, as well as Santa’s Village with workshops, a human-sized snow globe, and Santa himself. Stay to the end for the spectacular fireworks display to really end the evening with a bang.

KC And The Sunshine Band Vineyard Performance

If there is ever an ideal way to spend a Sunday afternoon, it is in wine country listening to the hits of the 80’s. Sirromet Wines has taken this on board and organized the best wine day we have ever heard of, booking Marcia Hines, The Village People, and KC and the Sunshine Band among other throwback faves to serenade you as you sip on fermented grape juice. Christmas Fireworks

There is nothing like a good old firework display to add a little oomph to the festivities, and Brisbane is delivering the goods just in time for Christmas. Pick your spot along the river to watch the festive green and red display to herald in the final few days before the main event. The fireworks will run nightly from the 20–23 of December for your viewing pleasure.

On the 21st of December, Milton’s Cribb Street is turning into a Christmas-y wonderland. There will also be an array of pop-up bars to make your evening just a touch jollier!
