Tuesday 15th May

World Whiskey Day with Pappy van Winkle

If there was ever a time for a cheeky after work tipple, World Whiskey Day is it. In celebration of this the most hallowed of holidays, The Gresham is pulling out the big guns and are offering up the chance to sip on one of the world’s most sought after American whiskeys: Pappy van Winkle. Coveted by collectors and enthusiasts alike, the entire Pappy van Winkle range will be available for sampling for one night only, exclusively at The Gresham. Four words, friends: 20-year-old whiskey. Wednesday 16th May

Home Again at Rom Coms & Nom Noms

Every Wednesday night, in an event aptly named Rom Coms & Nom Noms, new kid on the block Isles Lane—micro-pub-slash-city-oasis in Post Office Square—will be turned into a free pop-up cinema that hits all the right notes. The line-up for this week, you ask? Home Again, starring everyone's fave Reese Witherspoon (because who doesn't love the Spoon?!). The doors of Isles Lane will be open all day, however the screening kicks off at 6:30pm. so you have ample opportunity to eat your way through Isles Lane’s menu. RuPaul’s Drag Race Trivia

Queens, it’s time to peel yourselves off the couch and get thee to The Defiant Duck this Wednesday for a trivia night you’ll never forget. The legends behind The Trivial Duck have spoken and have selected RuPaul’s Drag Race as the topic of their next shindig. Expect generous prizes for the winners (as well as for the best dressed in the house), the chance to let your inner self shine and an abundance of hilarious commentary from The Defiant Duck’s resident Drag Queen host, Sellma Soul. The ‘A-List’ Painting & Music Tribute Night

In one epic throwback night to the queens of R&B, soul, jazz and pop, Cork & Chroma have created a brand spankin’ new paint and sip event worth checking out. Dubbed The ‘A-List’ Painting & Music Tribute Night, this one night only event will see you try your hand at painting a portrait of either Amy Winehouse, Alicia Keys or Adele. Guided by Cork & Chroma’s resident artist, you’ll be taught step-by-step the process of creating your very own masterpiece. Move over Da Vinci, Brisbane’s coming through. Plus, you’ll get to do it all with a glass of BYO vino in hand while listening to the best tunes from the aforementioned talented ladies. Um, yes please! ACADA’s International Cake Show Australia

ACADA’s International Cake Show Australia (ICSA) is back bigger and better than ever and we couldn’t be more excited! Featuring more than 70 free demonstrations, live cake sculptures, chocolate shows and Australia’s ultimate cake decorating competition and display, the International Cake Show Australia is the place to be for those looking to level up their cake decorating skills. ICSA is all about teaching you how to take your baking to the next level while introducing you to the myriad products and techniques available to help you on your way. And that’s all before we get to the sweet market, where you can stock up on enough cupcakes and flavours of cake to last you at least 24 hours.
