Don’t settle into that you-shaped dent in your sofa friends, because Brisbane is coming at you with one killer line-up of things to do, see and taste this week. We’re talking everything from an Italian-themed carb-extravaganza, one of Brisbane’s best language exchange sessions and the combination of all of our favourite things (read: sweet tunes and an even better parmi) at Jessie’s Girl.

Gather the squad and check out these five awesome things to do this week in Brisbane, curated for your viewing pleasure. What can we say, we’re givers.

Wednesday 30 May

Jazz, Soul, Beer & Parmi at Jessie’s Girl

In an event worthy of shouting from the rooftops, the legends behind Petrie Terrace fave Jessie’s Girl have gone and combined all of our favourite things into one stunning package. First they started by creating a monthly Jazz and Soul night, featuring a smooth AF soundtrack curated by the vinyl kings and queens over at A Love Supreme. Then they went and added one more special addition to the mix: the classic Wednesday parmi night. To top it all off, Jessie’s Girl went and ordered some cheeky bevvies from Lost Palms Brewing Company to liven up your Wednesday night plans. With that line-up, you won’t be disappointed. Thursday 31 May

Pizza, Pasta & Wine Thursday at Cloudland

Mamma mia, it’s time to bust out your best stretchy pants because Valley staple, Cloudland is coming at you with one carb-tastic Thursday night dinner. At their signature Pizza, Pasta & Wine Thursday, order a wood-fired pizza, a bowl of mouth-watering pasta AND a bottle of wine all for only $50 dollarydoos. The pizza menu includes such tastebud tantalising dishes as the salsiccia & patate, featuring Italian pork sausage and potatoes on a San Marzano tomato base, or the ortolana, which takes all of our favourite things (a.k.a cheese and bread) and tops them with a seasonal selection of roasted vegetables. And don’t even get us started on the pasta. Think egg tagliatelle with prosciutto ragu and cream. Drool-worthy? Absolutely. For all the details, click here.

Mundo Lingo Brisbane

Every Thursday evening, Mundo Lingo is throwing one of Brisbane’s best language exchange sessions. 200 people from all corners of the globe will be chatting and practicing speaking another language while chilling out with a cold one at Catchment Brewing Co. All ages and language backgrounds are welcome, regardless of whether you’re fluent in another language or barely know how to say 'bonjour'. Plus, when you throw Catchment Brewing Co’s killer menu into the mix you can bet that goods times are guaranteed to follow. For all the details, click here.

The classes are offered as a drop-in style, so you can start at any time, regardless of your experience level. There are three levels to choose from, each kicking off at a different time, with social dancing taking place between each class so you can put into practice what you just learned.
