Spring is finally (sort of) here—so that means making a heap of plans for all the things to do in Brisbane this weekend! Say goodbye to cold nights shivering in bed, so long are the fretful days at work trying to avoid Game Of Thrones spoilers, and forget your ugly jumpers and bulky onesies. With September comes a new social chapter, so put on your singlet and thongs and step into the sun with us.

Celebrate Studio Ghibli

Think there is nothing on at the movies this time of year? Think again! Taking it back to the classics of our youth, cinemas across Brisbane will be screening all Studio Ghibli films. Celebrate Studio Ghibli is a showcase of some of the most brilliant animated storytelling of all time, including Howl’s Moving Castle, My Neighbour Totoro, and Spirited Away. The showcase ends on 20th September so don’t miss out!

Vegan Day Out

Check out The Cruelty Free shop this weekend for some awesome deals on the top vegan eats in Brisbane. They will be handing out maps of stores across Brisbane that are offering deals, discounts, freebies and more on delicious vegan goodies. Spend your weekend exploring Brisbane’s vegan food scene on the cheap and celebrate everything vegan.

Late Night Op-Shopping

Itching for late night shopping but never pay retail? Here is your answer. The newest thrift shop on the block Studio Thrifty 4 will be opening their doors this Friday evening.  As well as cheap classic clothes there will be Korean eats available and champagne on arrival, so you are all set to pop some tags and some bubbly in the most luxe thrift shopping expedition you have even been on.

Wings Fest 2017

Stockade Brewing Co proudly presents to you this year’s annual Australian Buffalo Wing Festival. Yes, you read that right. Brisbane’s own Shake and Stir Theatre Company have brought back Bram Stoker’s classic in this gothic theatre piece. Capping off their Australia wide tour this local company’s innovative take of the classic novel is sure to give you shivers. Bring back the vampire craze and check them out at their closing night, but book soon because these tickets are selling out quick!

I mean, do you really have to read more? Wolff Coffee Roasters are hosting a speciality coffee festival in their brand new Hendra location. With cupping forums, roasting demonstrations, a roastery tour and great coffee your Saturday is officially made.
