We have well and truly settled into spring, and with that comes a series of spring-themed banquets, street festivals, and open air concerts to entertain you this weekend in Brisbane. Whether you enjoy the high life of champagne and ballet or want to get down with a bender of burgers and beer, Brisbane has something for everyone this weekend.

Chermside Oktoberfest

Be transported into a world of lederhosen, beer, and bratwurst as you enter Chermside’s Oktoberfest celebration. Running from Thursday to Saturday, Chermside will be flaunting food and beer stalls, live entertainment and an array of carnival attractions. We’re talking giant slides, jumping castles, the Gravitron, and just about everything else from your childhood that can only be made better with quality German beer. Cheers Chermy!

A Festival of Russian Ballet

The Imperial Russian Ballet Company is back in Brisbane to perform an exquisite three-act ballet. After sell-out performances of Swan Lake and A Russian Triple Bill, you can bet that this performance will be just as impressive. With only two performances you’ll have to book tickets quick so you don’t miss out!

Green Beacon Spring Dinner

Bringing you the taste of spring this Thursday is Green Beacon Brewing Company. Teaming up with Nicole Noble of Char Baby fame, this venture will furnish punters with a four-course dinner complete with matching beers. The staff will explain the pairings and how each brew brings out the flavours of the carefully selected menu, so if you’re a lover of good food and great beer this is not one to miss!

The Champagne Dinner

If you love bubbly and are looking for an especially high-end evening this Thursday, head to Stokehouse Q for their Champagne Dinner. You will enjoy an artfully curated five-course meal prepared by executive chef, Richard Ousby, paired carefully and perfectly with premium champagnes. Wine connoisseur Tyson Stelzer will host the evening, endowing some of his expansive bubbles knowledge while you sit back and enjoy some choice champagne and gourmet food.

The Mini Marilyn

Brisbane’s own Elizabeth Evans will be raising a glass to all divas, queens, and bombshells both past and present in her touring show The Mini Marilyn. Fresh from Sydney, this cabaret act invites you to taste a new kind of drop, toasting sisterhood and celebrating the glamorous, curvy icon that was and is Marilyn Monroe.

Brisbane Fitness Show

Need to up the motivation in order to achieve that summer bod? Brisbane Fitness Show is here to inspire. Hosted at the Convention Centre, this massive expo has all the information you need when it comes to health and fitness. Whether you are into bodybuilding, strength training, or are just regretting all of that winter comfort food, fitness professionals will be there to guide you through the latest health and fitness trends and info.

Welcome to Brisbane’s first ever burger festival – Burgerfest! The Triffid and Stone & Wood will be working together to bring you this mammoth event this Saturday. They will be shutting down Stratton Street in Newstead to make room for the best burgers in Brisbane. This gambol through the griller’s hall of fame will include icons such as Ze Pickle, Miss Kay’s, Ben’s Burgers, Mr. Burger, and more. Best part? Free entry! Plus plenty of burger eating competitions for those who are game, as well as live entertainment and plenty of refreshments.

Generate Creative Arts Festival

Head to Caboolture this weekend for the first ever Generate Festival, an event to celebrate raw creativity. With immersive light installations, music, street performers, art exhibits, pop up laneways, and more, Generate will showcase some of Brisbane’s best talent over two dynamic days.

Sustainable Wearables Pop-Up

Setting up shop in the Church Brisbane art gallery this Saturday night is The Brisbane Collectives Pop-Up Shop. This not-for-profit, artist run community will be selling hand crafted and upcycled wearables, from jackets to badges and everything in between. They will only be there for one night so don’t miss out on your chance to get your hands on some quality, unique and sustainable threads.

West End Street Art Festival

Soak up some culture at Australia’s first ever festival dedicated to urban street art and design. Throughout October artists have been working on large-scale murals along Boundary and Russell Streets, and this Sunday the fruits of their labour will be on display for you to enjoy. There will also be markets, street food, workshops, and live music to kick this festival off, so buy your tickets now.

The Chainsmokers

The Chainsmokers have brought their Memories… Do Not Open Tour down to Brissy, and we couldn’t be keener. They will be playing their hit songs Something Just Like Us, The One, and plenty more this Sunday night, celebrating an 18-month run of chart-topping hits. The Grammy Award-winning duo will only be in town for one glorious night, so book tickets ASAP.
