Move over Monday blues, Brisbane has no intention of slowing down just because the weekend has been and gone. This week in Brisbane includes free ramen day, a food truck fiesta and a traditional Chinese mooncake festival. Brisbane can’t stop and it won’t stop.

Tuesday 26th September

Free Hakataya Ramen

It’s the moment we’ve been waiting for because for one day only, the blessed Hakataya Ramen on Queen Street Mall will be giving away free ramen. Yup, that rich pork noodle soup Brisbane has come to love can be yours without handing over a single dollarydoo. But you have to be quick; the offer only stands until the ramen soup runs dry. More inspiring words have never been spoken. For all the deets, click here.

Wednesday 27th September

Family Paints at Cork & Chroma

Parents of Brisbane, don’t worry we haven’t forgotten about you. In fact, we’d like to let you know about this cheeky little event happening over at Cork & Chroma called Family Paints. Designed to let you and your little one indulge in a spot of painting, experienced artists will be on hand to help guide you through the creative process. You can choose to follow the instructor’s painting, which will be a Warhol-inspired cupcake (the perfect complement to any style of décor, in our opinion), or go rogue and just have fun splashing paint around. All materials are provided in the ticket price, so all you have to do is rock up and get started. Now that sounds like a win-win to us. For more information, click here.

Thursday 28th September

UQCSSA Moon Cake Festival

Taking advantage of the best of Brisbane’s balmy spring evenings, the UQ Chinese Student and Scholar Association will be holding their very own Moon Cake Festival this Thursday. The event will be modelled after the traditional Chinese festival, where friends and relatives are reunited outdoors to eat mooncakes and watch the moon. Traditional Chinese performances and, of course, moon cakes a-plenty will be popping up on the evening. Go on Brisbane, you know what to do. To get your tickets, click here.

Ironlak Life Drawing Night

The team over at Ironlak Queen Street have been killing it when it comes to inspiring us to indulge our creative side. This life drawing session with real-life nude models (how risqué) is set to be no different. Artists of all skill levels are invited to attend the session and all drawing materials will be supplied from Ironlak’s extensive range of goodies. As well as a providing an awesome opportunity to level up your figure drawing skills, you’ll also be able to connect with fellow creatives over one great view. You know what they say: friends who draw butts together stay together. To get your tickets, click here.

Friday 29th September

Eats & Beats

Guys, we’ve got your Friday night plans totally sorted: top off a trip to IKEA (everyone’s favourite furniture-cum-meatball store) with a night of munching and dancing at the monthly Eats & Beats. Combining two stages for music, a dedicated kids zone to keep the little ones entertained and a smorgasbord of food trucks, Eats & Beats is Logan’s answer to Eat Street and we are so on board. Think dining on Filipino street food, gourmet popcorn, freshly cooked paella and stuffed baguettes while sipping on a freshly poured ice tea – all in the same place. See you there! For all the event information, click here.
