February has well and truly settled in, and with it comes and influx of stellar Brisbane events to dazzle your social life. Though it may be slightly anxiety-inducing to ponder just how remarkably quickly the year is flying by, take a deep breath and get sociable.

This weekend in Brisbane will see art exhibitions opening, play nights, record launches, and multiple evenings dedicated to celebrating alcoholic beverages (yay!), so take a look through this list and get to at least one of these epic Brisbane events this weekend.

All Weekend

Fleabag

The stage adaption of the award-winning BBC series, Fleabag has hit Brisbane and is definitely worth the ticket. Running for this weekend only at Brisbane Powerhouse, Fleabag follows the owner of a failing guinea pig-themed café whose social, emotional, and sex life are all travelling rapidly down the gutter. Join her for a true and ridiculously funny story about the social and professional anxieties life has thrown her way.

When: 8-10 February
Where: Brisbane Powerhouse

Petite Pieces

Ever get the feeling the art world is just a little too big for our primitive minds to fully comprehend? Aspire Gallery is taking things down to a smaller scale with their new exhibition Petite Pieces. The exhibit is technically a competition, with the only restriction being that whatever artwork is submitted must fit within a 40 x 40 x 40 cm space. If you wish to appreciate the smaller things in life, this one is for you.

When: 7-24 February
Where: Aspire Gallery

The Winemaker Series invites you to meet the makers of these incredible Aussie wines, while of course taste-testing their wares—with the ideal canapes to match.

New Zealand Craft Beer Symposium 2018

Back for the third year in a row is Bloodhound Bar’s annual NZ Beer Symposium. Ten of their taps will be taken over by quality New Zealand brews to make for a choice night. As if this weren’t reason enough to drop everything and buy a schooner, each one bought will count as an entry to win a trip to NZ itself, caped off with tickets to Beervana in Wellington. Cheers to that!

Paramore

Shout out to all my Brisbaneites who went through an emo phase—this one’s for you. If you ever up-cycled fishnets into gloves and your hair covered 90% of your face, chances are you know exactly who Paramore are and once connected with them on a spiritual level. Now is your chance to see them live at Riverstage and to relive that emotionally charged teen angst that you expressed through the colour black and screaming the lyrics to Misery Business.

That 80s Time Travel Movie

If there is anything better than a cheesy 80s movie, it's a musical parody of a cheesy 80s movie. Playing at Arts Theatre is Unorthorized!’s musical parody of Back To The Future. Stop by for the Australian Premiere of this musical parody that will have you wishing you could go back in time to see it over again (sorry, I just had to!).
