Yep, it’s Thursday already! If you find yourself (once again) having raced to the weekend only to have completely forgotten to actually plan anything, don’t stress—we’ve got you covered.

Brisbane has plenty of killer events on this weekend, from free workshops and wellness festivals to boujee cocktail parties and concerts. Take a break from watching those olympians while drowning in the Brisbane humidity (read: get the hell off your couch!) and check out this list for all the epic events lined up this weekend in Brisbane.

MindBodySpirit Festival

There is only a week of February left, and with everything flying by so fast, it is time for a health and wellbeing check-up. Conveniently for you, the MindBodySpirit Festival is running all weekend to recharge your batteries and re-inspire your mind. This year the event is free to attend, so come along, book in for a psychic reading or a free meditation session, and give your mind, body, and soul a little TLC.

Flickerfest 2018

Back for its 27th year (let that just sink in for a moment...), Brisbane's much-loved annual short film festival celebrating everything movies is back—and gee, is has one heck of a lineup for 2018! Spread over two days, Palace Centro in Fortitude Valley will once again be showcasing the very best movies from two categories; Australian short and International short films. Grab a large popcorn, ditto a vino (or two), and settle in for two days of pure cinematic bliss!

Green: A Collective Exhibition

Obsessed with the colour green? Believe it or not, we have the perfect exhibition for you. Twelve artists will combine their works to create an exhibition focused on one colour and one colour only. Stop by Percolator this weekend for a rainbow of green, from mint to moss, evergreen to emerald.

Watercolour Workshop

ICYMI, watercolour is the latest DIY that is not only visually on point, but surprisingly easy to do. If you feel the need for a little instruction, head to Homemaker this Thursday night for a watercolour workshop hosted by Eliza Rose. Oh, did we mention the workshop is absolutely free? To walk away with your completely free, self-painted, watercolour palm frond, just book a spot because places are limited!

Brisbane Comedy Festival

The Brisbane Comedy Festival is back and it is not holding back. Starting this Friday, Brisbane Powerhouse will be bombarded with some of Earth’s most hilarious humans. Featuring stand-up from DeAnne Smith, Sam Campbell, Peter Helliar, Akmal, and Stephen K Amos just to name a few, prepare to leave feeling elated and slightly guilty from everything you were just in stitches about.

Cocktails & Canapés In The Park

Is there any better way to spend a Friday night than with three hours of pop-up food stalls, gourmet cocktails, and live entertainment? The Treasury Casino is hosting Cocktails & Canapés In The Park this Friday for you to eat, drink, and dance to your heart’s delight. Indulge in a drink from one of the 12 cocktail bars on site, or choose from the craft beer station or wine bar. Whatever your poison, The Treasury has you covered this Friday! Jetset Friday

Blackbird is taking us to a new destination each month, and this Friday they will be whisking you away to the land of pizza, pasta, and Peroni. Guy Sebastian At Park After Dark

There's something pretty fun about being at a theme park at night, and Dreamworld's Park after Dark events definitely appeal to the big kid in us. Aussie ledge Guy Sebastian will be kicking off the first Park after Dark event for 2018 with a live show, belting out tracks from his latest album Conscious, along with some iconic bangers from years past. And even better? In the lead-up to the gig you can jump on some of Dreamworld's most gut-churning rides for free, before being soothed by Guy's super-smooth tones, followed by live DJ, Bombs Away.

Sofitel Girls' Day Out Race Day

Gather your leading ladies and throw on your glad rags; this Saturday is going to be a biggie at Doomben Racecourse! Hosted by Sofitel, Brisbane's most glamourous raceday event is back and bigger than ever, with a host of trackside fun including fashion on the fields, live DJ sets, a pamper station—even a tarot card reader(!)—to keep the party going all day long. From Jaws To Jurassic Park: The Music Of John Williams

If you don’t know who John Williams is, take a step back and have a listen to the soundtracks of Star Wars, Harry Potter, Schindler’s List, Superman, Indiana Jones, Jaws, or Jurassic Park, just to name a few. The music of one of the most legendary film composers of all time will be played by the Queensland Symphony Orchestra this Saturday, so if you are film score lover on any level this concert is not one to miss.

Meet The Brewer

This Saturday, Ballistic Beer Co is teaming up with Brunswick Street’s Pig ‘N’ Whistle to bring you their monthly Meet The Brewer Event. If you, like many, are fascinated by the ever-emerging miracle of craft beer, here is your chance to grill the brewers on their secrets regarding the creation of their frothy masterpieces. There will also be live tunes, ribs and wings from the smoker, and of course plenty of beer to help wash down all that goodness.

The 39 Steps

If you are a fan of noir and self-aware comedy, you are bound to enjoy The 39 Steps. Opening at QPAC this weekend, this play follows a tale of conspiracies, espionage, and way too many Venetian blinds as it takes classic noir to a new level. Starring an all Queenslander cast, including that redheaded guy from every Aussie ad ever, you have to check out this classy comedy when it hits the stage this Saturday.
