We Hate Gluten Festival

Let’s be real, we could all do with a little less gluten in our lives. Though most of us probably aren’t sure what it actually is (guilty), both your Insta feeds and your local foodie café have been spreading the message that it is the root of all evil and should therefore be avoided at all costs. Your gut might even agree with this, who's to say? In case you need more convincing, check out Welcome To Bowen Hills’ We Hate Gluten Festival this weekend for a taste of the gluten-free life. There will be donuts, burgers, curries, hot dogs, and every other usually wheat filled treat you could desire.

Go Out & Play

The definition of the word 'play' has changed drastically in the last 50 years. Once rooted in backyard games, now spread into the ever-reaching world of technology, the question ‘what is play?’ is less straightforward. Freshly launched on Tuesday, the Brisbane Powerhouse is currently hosting an installation that seeks to explore that very question, showcasing everything the word ‘play’ now encompasses. Check it out in their main foyer.

The Verandah 

Listen up, footy lovers! The Brisbane Lions are launching a new venue within their stadium called The Verandah, and it’s going to take your footy experience to the next level (literally). You can purchase tickets to watch the game from The Verandah and experience footy in a whole new way. With amazing views of the game and no crowds to block your view, you can watch the Lions play from a completely new perspective.

CEX | Cutting Edge

Have you ever noticed the subtle, undeniably inspiring, and majestic figure of the bowling pin? Cutting Edge has tasked multiple artists to use a pin as their canvas, creating impressive and unique works from the familiar shape. This exhibit will run for one night only, with all proceeds going to Youngcare.

GUESS Grand Opening

A brand-new GUESS location is opening up in Westfield Chermside and we are absolutely here for it. On top of the fact that there will be yet another of the world’s most iconic stores easily accessible to us humble Brisbane souls, the opening event has more than a few goodies to give away. There will be M.A.C demos and touch ups, live music, wine and nibbles, plus a free gift with the first purchases! If you are a fashion fan you cannot miss this one.

Client Liaison | Little Big Thursdays 

Little Big House are taking their Thursday session to a new level this week with Client Liaison playing a live set into the evening. Along with the night’s usual festivities of drinks, a pool, and of course karaoke, the live DJs will tip the party into overdrive to make for a truly ripper Thursday night. Oh, did we mention the party is completely free?

Latin Bazaar Market

Celebrate Latino culture this Saturday at the Latin Bazaar in King George Square. Run by Latin House, the non-profit organisation aims to support and represent Latino immigrants and refugees in Australia. Support the cause by coming along, eating some amazing food, and soaking up South American culture in your own backyard.

Park Vibes

For all our Northsiders looking for a chilled way to spend your Sunday, check out Park Vibes in Pine Rivers Park this weekend. This event will show off the very best in local talent, with an afternoon of live music to entertain into the evening. There will of course be plenty of food trucks and vendors to add to the experience, so bring a picnic blanket, pick up a smorgasbord of food, and soak in the quality park vibes.

Adore Delano Whatever Club Tour

Singer Songwriter and American drag queen, Adore Delano will be hitting the stage in Brisbane this Sunday night. Having competed on both American Idol out of drag, and Ru Paul’s Drag Race in drag, Adore’s talents are quite clearly beyond most of us mortals. Head to Fluffy to hear her newest album ‘Whatever’ and to bask in the presence of someone who has spent one on one time with the god and goddess that is Ru Paul.
