Big Plates 4 Little Mates Charity Lunch | ARIA
What do you get when you have James Mathison emceeing, Dami Im performing, Matt Moran cooking, and a bloody good cause? Only the raddest charity lunch of 2015. Raising money to treat children with cancer, The Sporting Chance Cancer Foundation’s charity lunch will feature three exquisite courses of Moran-level deliciousness, as well as a live performance by the ever-so-dulcet Dami Im, and a charity auction to raise some serious coin.

Thanks to the overwhelming support and enthusiasm towards the Downey Park Food Trucks in Windsor, the EXACT SAME SET UP is landing in Spring Hill this weekend. Expect appearances from Brisbane’s best four-wheeled kitchens like ChipTease, King of the Wings, Kombi Koffein, Little Back, Pizzantica, The Bone Lorry, and The Doughnut Bar. Wood Fired Delights | Taste
Only a pizza banquet can turn a group of perfect strangers into a family, and that is exactly what happens at Taste’s all-you-can-eat pizza nights. The general idea is that starting at 5.15pm guests have 90-minutes during which they’re entitled to as much pizza as they can cram into their jowls before seams start splitting (shocked face emoji). There’ll be non-alcoholic drinks for the wee ones, and plenty of vino for the adults, as well as dessert pizzas for sweet-inclined.

Moss Wood winemakers Clare and Keith Mugford, together with ARIA’s head sommelier, Ian Trinkle, are hosting a wine dinner out of ARIA’s private dining room which promises to be exquisite. The Moss Wood winery in the Margaret River wine region of Western Australia has been building a reputation for their stunning wines since 1969. State of Origin 2 | Dutch Courage Officer’s Mess
To celebrate our nation’s dedication to running into each other, Dutch Courage have created a burger especially for maroon fanatics to go with the screening of the State of Origin 2. In homage to the legend Wally Lewis, and aptly dubbed the King Wal Burger, this special addition to the menu comes with grilled chicken, onion rings, gooey Swiss cheese, jalapeno mayo, avocado, and cherry tomato chutney. The King Wal goes for $18 a pop, but if you get there before the first try (aka touchdown, goal or scoring points) of the night, Dutch Courage will throw in a cheeky Stone ‘n Wood, just because they can. Ramen Nights | Gerard’s Bar
This Wednesday evening, sneak down to the smoked and cured Gerard’s Bar for a new weekly precedent. Bowling up from 3pm until late, Gerard’s Tonkotsu-style ramen is made in-house from free-range, macadamia-fed charcuterie pigs, and with a glass of warm sake it’s just the stuff to see you through winter.
