After a series of successful pop-ups, Junky Comics is opening its first bricks and mortar store in West End, and they want to celebrate with you this Friday night. For this special occasion Junky are teaming up with Brisbane-based arts initiative, NOFUN, and hosting a series of art exhibitions in store. Knockoff | Brisbane Powerhouse
A free comedy night that takes over The Powerhouse every Friday, Knockoff is the perfect way to ease into the weekend. Local and Aussie comedians will be bringing the belly laughs.

Opening of Imaginary Accord | Institute of Modern Art
Celebrating their 40th year in the cool, modern art biz, IMA is kicking things off in their usual fun and edgy manner with the opening of their year-long project, Imaginary Accord. The exhibition explores the institution’s historical mission, while imagining what it could mean today and for the future through a series of intertwined initiatives. Featuring artworks and contributions by fifteen Australian and international artists and groups, it will grow and change over the course of three months. The event is open to IMA members from 5pm with doors opening for the public between 6pm and 8pm.

Back by popular demand, Nose to Tail will be taking curious foodies and wannabe butchers beyond the fillet and through the prep’ of a whole beast. You’ll be mincing, curing, smoking, and cooking some delicious dishes, with a selection of wines and beers to accompany the cooking, and you can taste as you go.
