Christmas is fast approaching, Brisbanites! If you’re feeling a little overwhelmed by the fact that it is now December (we feel your pain), we’ve got a stack of festive events for you to attend this weekend to get you firmly in the festive spirit. 

From Christmas pop-ups, shopping promotions and coffee competitions, to long lunches, book launches and wine degustations, there are plenty of things to do in Brisbane for everyone in the family this weekend.

Here’s what’s on this weekend in Brisbane. 

Thursday 11th 

Everingham & Watson Christmas Pop-Up | Latrobe Terrace
And with only 12 sleeps to go til the stores close, now is the perfect time to start your Christmas shopping, or pick up those last minute gifts. Much loved Brisbane homewares designers, Everingham & Watson are popping up in Paddington for the silly season in all their prawn-and-pineapple glory. Be quick!

Friday 12th 

Nana & Da's Do Dinner! | Nana & Da's
Kedron breakfast favourite are now trialing dinner sevrice of a Friday night, until the 19th of December. Punters can expect the same quality, simple nosh and relaxed vibe that have made this cafe so popular as a day-time dining destination. Nana & Da's are open for dinner from 5pm til 8pm, phone ahead to reserve your spot!

Cellar Treasures Long Lunch | Balfour Kitchen 
Foodies and wine lovers, this one is for you! Grape Therapy is hosting their final, legendary long lunch for 2014, and they’ve saved the best wines til last. From noon til 3pm, guests will enjoy a superb lunch, paired with the best wine in the country. A foodie event not to be missed! 

Once Upon A Wine | Jak+Hill 
For the first time, The Vino Geek is bringing Once Upon A Wine to Brisbane! Kicking off at 6:30pm, the event will feature a superb four-course dinner, accompanied by four Merilba Estate Wines. Merilba wine will be available for purchase on the night, and guests will receive a Once Upon A Wine glass to take home! Table bookings can be as big or as small as you like, just make sure you secure your tickets pronto. 

Buffalo Rockabilly Nights | Buffalo Bar
If whiskey and late night rock’n’roll sounds like your ideal Friday night, we’ve got just the event for you. From 10:30pm every Friday and Saturday night, new Brisbane wings and whiskey joint Buffalo Bar will play host to the Buffalo Bar house band, with free entry all night. It’s sure to be a rootin’ tootin’ hoot! 

Saturday 13th 

Carols in Colour | Westfield Chermside
This festive season, Westfield Chermside are embracing a Christmas filled with colour, and they’re bringing to you an outdoor Carols Concert Spectacular like you’ve never seen before. Rumour has it that Santa will be making a sneaky detour, spreading Christmas cheer with colour cannons (yes, I did say cannons!). So round up the little ones and make sure you wear white—it’s going to be one heck of a colour party!  

Food Van Jam | Westfield Chermside 
Tying in perfectly with Chermside’s Carols In Colour, epic food truck festival, Food Van Jam is back! All your favourite food trucks from all over Brisbane are set to cook up a storm this Saturday from 4pm, with King of the Wings, Local Mobile Deli, Mark Daniel’s Patisserie, Pizzantica, That BBQ Joint, The Kai Kart, Thumbs Up Hotdogs, and Fire’N’Dough all making an appearance. We’re pretty certain your bellies will be more than satisfied. Be sure to stop by! 

The Bare Basics Launch Party! | Capulet
This is not a cookbook for the pompous and proper, but rather for the young, adventurous and wild at heart. The Bare Basics cookbook officially launches this weekend so come and join in the fun, with topless waiters, taste testers and drinks, as well as the opportunity to meet the author, this is a must-attend event for lovers of food, and the male form! All guests will be able to take advantage of the discounted Bare Basics cookbook price, and will also leave with a TBB canvas bag filled with goodies. Hito Steyerl: Too Much World | Institute of Modern Art
The institute of modern art is pleased to present Too Much World, the first exhibition in Australia of the artist, writer, and filmmaker Hito Steyerl. This comprehensive exhibition is set to feature six works from the past decade including Liquidity Inc., which premiered in early 2014. Hito’s exhibition will run from 13th December until 22nd March 2015, so be sure to pop in and check it out!

Bounce Children’s Summer Camp! | Bounce Inc
Parents, it’s time to avoid the cries of ‘I’m bored’ this summer. Indoor urban playground, BOUNCE is set to play host as a camp ground these school holidays, opening its doors for its inaugural Bounce Summer Camp. A five-day supervised program aimed to teach children new skills in an active environment. Book the kids in, they’ll love it!
