We’re frothing about all the incredible stuff to eat, see and do this weekend in Brisbane. This weekend kicks off Good Food Month, so naturally the entire city is bibbing up to go hammer and bloody tongs. Get your Bastille on at the French festival, prime your pasta skills, or crawl around sampling some of the special Good Food Month offers popping up all over the place. Whatever takes you fancy, you’re guaranteed a corker of a weekend as long as you stay off that couch.

Here’s what’s going on this weekend in Brisbane:

Thursday 9 July

Bar Hop | Brisbane

Kick off your Good Food Month with a cheeky Bar Hop courtesy of Tanqueray gin. They’ve invited a crop of Brisbane’s best bars to invent a Tanqueray-based cocktail and serve it with a tasty bar snack at the capped price of $20 a pop. Hoppers can take advantage of this special offer at Madame Wu, Woolly Mammoth, Dutch Courage, Canvas, Lefty’s and many others until August 9.

New England Summer Feast | Buffalo Bar

Once you’re suitably Tanqueray’d, sit down for a New England Summer Feast at Buffalo Bar. In the grand and ancient tradition of the subterranean clambake, the lads at Buffalo have designed a veritable feast of seafood pleasures featuring prawns from Mooloolaba, slipper lobster, blue swimmer crab, mussels, and clams with corn, smoked potatoes and a pork and fennel sausage.  The feast will be available every night of Good Food Month and goes for $65 a serve. Note: bookings are essential and must be made 48 hours prior. Click here for more info.

Friday 10 July

French Festival | Southbank

This weekend in Southbank, give yourself over to the Franconslaught of musicians, designers, creatives, and connoisseurs of every variety express from France and bent on a bender. Frivolities will kick off with performances by Paris Underground Cabaret and an 18-piece Noumean band. The French Festival rages all weekend until Sunday, plenty of time for everyone to chow through 1.3 tonnes of President cheese.

The workshop, presented by Tognini’s, promises to cover all the skills to necessary to knead, roll, cut, and fill a variety of pastas that participants will be able to take home after a stunning lunch from Il Locale’s kitchen. But don’t fret if you can’t make it this weekend, call up and arrange a private workshop for you and your buds.
