Lovers of all things wagyu, angus and buttermilk chicken, ready your stomachs—your PT isn’t going to like this. Brisbane is only getting a festival dedicated to BURGERS!! Making its first EVER Brisbane appearance, Burgerfest is an ode to the (not so) humble burg. Holy s**t.
This almightly event is being held at The Triffid: dedicating the entirety of Stratton Street to Brisbane’s best burger joints for one blessed day only. With very serious contenders such as Ze Pickle, Miss Kay’s, Ben's Burgers, Mr Burger, 5 Boroughs, Red Hook, Lucky Egg and The Triffid’s own burgers hitting the grill, ‘Brisbane’s Best Burger’ will be crowned to one very greasy (but brilliant) stack.
This free event—seriously, it writes itself sometimes—will showcase the very best of the best. Ben’s ‘Classic Burger’, ‘Doughnutfukwitdis’ from Ze Pickle (glazed doughnut-beef-cheese burger goodness, whaaa), Miss Kay’s ‘The Big Miss Kay’s Challenge’ (that is, five beef patties and five layers of cheese) are only a small slice of the fried goodness that Burgerfest will offer.
Local beers and ciders will also be on hand for consumption, including Aussie legends Stone & Wood. And did we mention LEGENDARY Powderfinger frontman Bernard Fanning will hit the stage for his final show of his Brutal Dawn tour once the patties have cleared? Burgs and Fanning. I mean, if this doesn't pique your interest we don't know what will.
Prepare to arrive hungry, but to definitely not leave that way.
