If you’re having a lazy day and looking for a laidback place to chillbang with your pals, Little Clive is the place to go.
Little Clive sits on a quiet corner but peeps out onto bustling Ipswich Road in the heart of Annerley. The recycled timber tables and outdoor veranda setting gives this cafe a chilled out vibe with the perfect casual setting for a good old fashioned yarn with your best friends.
When I rocked up at 11 am with a grumbling empty belly that had been deprived of breakfast, the only thought process my brain could compute was “need food. Now.” The waiter then told me they served all day breakfast AND their lunch menu was available from 10.30 am. Winning! There were so many options to choose from. Breakfast? Lunch? One dish from each menu? Why not?!
Little Clive’s breakfast menu has all the classic breakky faves like French toast, eggs bennedict, avo plates, smoked salmon and their very own Little Clive Breakfast Board which gives you a selection of yummy goodness.
If you’re like me and you’re looking for something to satisfy your tastebuds and your large appetite, I definitely recommend the wagyu beef burger served with sweet potato fries from the lunch menu. But if you’re feeling a bit more adventurous there are some quirky things on the menu like grilled bugs served with watermelon vodka gazpacho with mint, feta and black olive salsa. Or if you’re a kid at heart and looking for a sugar hit, they serve honeycomb and fairy floss pancakes. Delish.
Little Clive’s refreshing cold pressed juices are perfect for this time of year as the Spring sunshine starts to shoot its hot rays down on Brisbane. The cold pressed green apple juice is served with loads of ice and is so cool and crisp it feels like a summer vacay in your mouth.
Little Clive is also pet friendly for those who just can’t bear to go out without their furry friends. There’s a small section on the outer edge of the veranda where you can tie up your pooch and stare lovingly into their eyes as you enjoy your morning coffee. If pets aren’t your thing, never fear because Little Clive has plenty of tables far away from the pet corner.
Little Clive’s motto is “real, honest food and drinks” and that’s exactly what you can expect when you visit. I always say honesty is the best policy, so Little Clive was a winner for me.
