We Check Out New Ramen Bar, MisoHapi

When you hear the words ‘ramen bar’ your heart tends to skip a beat. With our two favourite things in one adorably kawaii space, we think we’ve found a contender for Brisbane’s best ramen in West End’s MisoHapi.

The set-up is the perfect amalgamation of West End and the ramen bars of Tokyo. Think bright pink walls, minimal, tight seating, and attentive staff that make for an enjoyably autonomous dining experience. Just like they do in Tokyo!


You have the option to dine from the sushi train or order fresh from the menu. Said menu boasts delights such as deep fried tofu—see, tofu can be fun—and a whole range of meaty and vego donburi, plus, avo, and sweet potato tempura nigiri. There are also bento boxes, because all good Japanese restaurants should know how to nail them; and yes, we will be going back to try them.

Their showstopper? The ramen. In both carnivorous and vegan options, the ramen here is kind of epic. Chose from Tonkotsu, Miso, Soy Sauce or a Shio (salt) broth, and opt for either Chashu pork belly or tofu. We’ll be honest with you, we didn’t except as much as these guys delivered: rich, flavoursome, authentic broth and pork that melts in your mouth. Honestly we’ve gotta hand it to these guys, their ramen is top notch and easily some of the best ramen in Brisbane.


As with most things Japanese, too, it’s often the weird things that end up being the best. The avocado chips, for example, are so weird they’re right. Plus, give the lotus root chips a go if you’re after something different. Fans of tofu will appreciate the Agedashi croquettes, too.


The verdict? We love Miso Hapi! For fast, quick, and most importantly, delicious Japanese food, these guys need to be your go to.
