What's the Gasometer you ask? It's the giant, heritage-listed metal structure that sits proudly alongside the new Gasworks Plaza in Newstead. Tonight, Lord Mayor, Graham Quirk (or GQ, as we like to call him) will be lighting up the Gasometer with over 1,000 bulbs. The festivities continue through the weekend with the Taste of Gasworks event on Saturday, which will allow you to sample the wares of tasty Gasworks businesses from 11:00am, and local bands, The Vernons and Sheppard, providing tunes on Saturday night. And on Sunday the party continues with a giant birthday cake and giveaways to wrap up the weekend!
