Brisbane's own Dane Adamo brings his brand of acoustic song crafting to Shady Palms. The singer's Circle of Lies EP was released last month and he recently returned from a successful tour of South East Asia.
Pencils at the ready, the quarterly drawing marathon is back. Taking place on the same day in countries across the globe, Sketchcrawl encourages artists and amateurs to explore and draw their city. This year, the route takes sketchers to the Gasworks, Riverpark and Newstead House before finishing for lunch at Breakfast Creek Hotel.

Gasworks goes all out in its Australia Day celebration, staging a huge pop-up barbecue in the precinct centre. Alongside the gourmet sausages, Gold Coast prawns, caramelised onions and lamb burgers (all from Hatch & Co.'s head chef, Braden White, no less), Australia Day at Gasworks also includes thong throwing and mango eating competitions and a jumping castle for children.

Limes Hotel invite guests to spend Australia Day above the city as it opens its 'rooftop resort' for a day of barbecue and cocktails. Perth-based DJ Sable is on hand to soundtrack the evening after the excitement of the Triple J countdown.

The Fortitude Valley bar makes use of the adjacent Bakery Lane car park to stage a good ol' fashioned Australia Day backyard party. DJ Danny Daze and German House whiz, Henrik Schwarz headline the makeshift stage, with support coming from local DJs. Two bars, palm trees and a ping pong table are also on hand to keep guests entertained.
