You can't complain you've got nothing to do with the action-packed week of fun that's coming up. Get busy!

Winter Lunch Special | Aquitaine Brasserie, River Quay

Winter lunch just got a whole lot more delicious. Enjoy a weekday lunch at Aquitaine Brasserie, where any of the chalkboard specials, and a glass of house wine or Little Creatures beer, will only set you back $25.

The Central Queensland Project | Brisbane Powerhouse

The Central Queensland Project is showing at The Brisbane Powerhouse until the 18th of August. This exhibition, featuring award-winning images, is a photographic exploration of an economically powerful, if often forgotten region.

The History of Sound Trivia night | Black Bear Lodge

The Trivia nights at BBL have been going off, so don't miss their latest. This time, the theme is music trivia from the 1950s to now, and DJ Black Amex will be spinning it up, as well as live music performances from mystery guests throughout the night. Doors open from 5pm, with the trivia starting at 7pm. You can even pre-register your team here.

The Valley People Exhibition | Design College Australia

Join renowned photographer, Alex Buckingham, as he captures the lives, stories, and personalities of the homeless he's encountered in our own Fortitude Valley.  This moving exhibition will open from 5:30pm and is free to attend.

Sexpo | Brisbane Convention Centre

Kicking off on Thursday at noon, Sexpo is set to shake up Brisbane in the usual whirlwind of toys, penile artists, couples therapy, and, of course, the famous Sexpo train, The Gerbal. Sexpo runs until Sunday the 28th.

Creative Cupcakes Cooking Class | Spring

Who doesn't love a cupcake? Learn how to bake this divine little iced treatie in all its glory at Spring. The class covers the basics of cupcake bases and, the best bit, icing and decorating. And, yes, you do get to keep and eat your creations! This class is on from 6:30pm until 9:30pm and costs $85 per person.

Celebrity Cooking Demo | Indooroopilly Shopping Centre

Masterchef's cutest protégé, Poh, is cooking up a storm in store to celebrate the launch of the centre's Gourmet Fresh Precinct. She'll be demonstrating her much-loved, home-style cooking style over three demonstrations throughout the day, at 10am, 12pm, and 2pm.

Andrew McNamara Lecture | Institute of Modern Art

Macnamara examines one of Sigmar Polke's last major exhibitions, We Petty Bourgeois!: Comrades and Contemporaries. McNamara aims to shake up our assumptions about art, criticism, and class in this riveting talk, from 6pm.

Splendour in the Grass | North Byron Parklands

If you're lucky enough to have nabbed tickets to Splendour, good on you. Frank Ocean, Chet Faker, James Blake, and loads more litter the line up at this year's festival.

Opening Night, Russian Film Festival | Palace Centro Cinemas

The festival is on from the 26th of July to the 4th of August. This year marks the festival's 10th anniversary, and the opening night screening of The Geographer will be followed by a Cossack-approved after-party, with a live band and dancing. Find the full list of session times here.

Frankenstein | QUT Garden's Theatre

Catch Nick Dear's critically acclaimed adaptation of this horror classic from the 26th to 27th of July. There will only be three screenings of this critically acclaimed performance, so be sure to book yourself a spot.

Brisbane Emerging Arts Festival | The Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts

Showcasing Brisbane's emerging artists, the festival will take over The Judy for one night, celebrating the best of Brisbane's creative culture. With performance art, film screenings, and interactive installations, this year's festival is a must. And best of all, this event is totally free.

New Light Lunch | Pony Dining

Pony has a new 'light meals' menu option available of a lunch time, and our pick of the light and tasty line up includes the lamb burger brioche and the wood-grilled tuna nicoise. Best of all, a light meal and glass of wine or beer will only set you back $29 per person.
