It's another full week, you guys. The fun continues as the James Street Food Trail rolls on, we've got a very special spa package from endota, and the Ekka is kicking off! 


Beef Off | Regatta Hotel

It's a beef showdown. Head to the Regatta's Boatshed hotel and find out which local producer has the 'best beef ' of 2013.  A ticket earns you a place in the judge's seat, as you blind-taste your way through the most succulent, tender beef available. This lunchtime beef extravaganza kicks off from 11:15am.


18th Birthday Menu | e'cco Bistro

e'cco Bistro is turning 18! To celebrate, the e'cco team want to treat you to a very special birthday menu. They'll be serving up their most loved, iconic dishes until the 10th of August. And, to keep the celebration going, when you dine in at e'cco of lunch anytime during August you can enjoy two courses and a glass of wine for only $45!

The Confectory Launch | Confectory by CakeStar

Brisbane's newest dessert restaurant is opening, and, as if that wasn't exciting enough by itself, they'll be giving out free gelato from 2pm. The Confectory will be a 'create your own confect' dessert haven, where their delish cupcakes form the base of a gelato, syrup, and sprinkles masterpiece, created by you. 

The Fundamentals of the English language | The Box

Here's one for the word nerds (i.e. us). The Joynery is hosting an informative session on the history of the English language, covering cool stuff like sentence structure, tense, and word classes (what? nouns are cool . . .). Language lovers are going to have a great time at this two-hour workshop. Kicking off from 10am, they recommend you bring a paper and pen.

Radio Black Bear: 2nd Anniversary | Black Bear Lodge

Everybody's favourite lodge is turning two! Naw. To celebrate, they are putting on one big ol' party, with the Frowning Clouds up from Melbourne to perform, and DJ Philistine straight from the UK hitting the decks, as well as The Kramers and The Madisons. Tix are $15 and you can find them here.

Frank Camorra & the James Street Food and Wine Trail | James Street

Frank will be busy all day long with a series of great events. Learn how to cook his simple, divine Spanish fare in a live cooking demonstration at The Standard Market Co from 11am, then get your Frank Camorra classic signed at Scrumptious Reads at 3pm. Then—and this is the best part—he'll be hosting a tapas takeover at Sixes and Sevens from 5pm.
