Every week it amazes us just how much there is to do around here! This weekend in Brisbane the city has decided that we are well overdue for a spot of celebration, QLD style! We're celebrating our, slightly crazed, love of soccer, our passion for fashion, our thirst for fitness, and our complete take-over-your-life obsession with food and wine. Lots and lots of food and wine. It's a hard job to decide what to do this weekend, so, what the hell, let's just do it all!

Here's what's on this weekend in Brisbane...

Thursday 12th

Ellery Sample Sale | James Street
When one of Australia's most sought-after designers goes on sale, you don't walk — you run! As fast as you can! All the way to the cashier! Shopping induced mania aside, prepare yourself for the Ellery sample sale, where you'll find pieces from past seasons, archive, and runway samples just waiting to be snapped up by one of you savvy shoppers.

Friday 13th

Panorama | RAW Natural Born Artists
RAW is an international and independent arts organisation committed to showcasing emerging local talent across a broad range of artistic fields. Revel in a fun night showcasing our Brisbane talent, that includes a fashion show, art installation and performance art, film as well as hair and make up artistry, from artists such as LVL Photography, Sahara Dance Company, and AMIRA: a Brisbane fashion designer whose stunning, luxurious pieces are meticulously crafted from the highest quality materials, and debuted at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival. The level of skill and creativity is eye-wateringly inspiring, and a great night to showcase our fab' talent!

FIFA World Cup Live Screening | King George Square
Let's face it — a ticket to Brazil 'aint exactly cheap! And, while we could all mope around at our desks, watching Youtube videos of our boys in green and gold, wishing we could be 'livin' la vida loca' like a local, we'll happily settle for live screenings of every game right on our doorstep! Come down to King George Square for the live screening of the opening ceremony and first game of the FIFA World Cup, and immerse yourself in some Brazilian culture — we're talking music, dancing and a ton of fun.

Anchor Training Newbie Offer | Anchor Training
Look, let's be frank, the gym get's boring. So boring in fact, that you'll do almost anything to avoid actually crossing that threshold and making eye contact with your cardio instructor you haven't seen in the last 3 weeks. It's fine; we've all been there. You'll find no shame sandwich here. So, when we heard that the all round awesome guys at Anchor Training were doing a 'newbie offer' — where you can try all their classes as often as you like in a week for just $20 — we thought that was pretty freaking great! With classes like 'The Jackal' and 'The Gladiator', you'll not only feel inspired, you'll feel like a total LEGEND after a sesh!

Winter Lights Festival And Cheese Fair | Racecourse Road Festival
Stuck for things to do this weekend in Brisbane? Well, brace yourself cheese-o-philes, this year's much-loved Winter Lights Festival on Racecourse Road has gone and played it's ace card: The Cheese Market are setting up stumps at this year's festival! Bringing 20 of the finest local and regional cheese and condiment providores, you'll be able to sample and take home more cheese than really is recommended! This much-loved winter festival brings over 200 stalls onto Racecourse Road, showcasing the best food and drink, mulled wine, art and crafts, plus the beloved lanterns are back for another year.

Vielle Branche Winter Market Day And 1st Birthday Party | Vielle Branche
The French certainly know how to throw a party! This weekend, lose yourself amongst the beautiful curiosities, artworks and grand furniture at Vielle Branche's Winter Market Day, and while you're there, help them celebrate their 1st Birthday! Drinks and canapés will be on hand (naturally), and stick around for a surprise a little later in the evening. Even we don't know what it is!

By way of a House Warming Party! Secure your spot and come along to one yoga party you wont want to miss! To get you in the mood, the house DJ for the night, Andy Dub, has put together this awesome free mix so you can start the party early! Just bring yourself, a yoga mat and a positive 'tude!

Sunday 15th

City 2 South Charity Run | City 2 South
Feeling fit, Brisbane? Well you've got 2 days to step it up a gear and enter yourself into this year's City 2 South race! Be you a pro — who loves the thought of a 14km battle of the brawn — or an aspiring amateur (who partakes more for the delights of conversation over a casual 5km run) this is one of those events you have to try at least once, am I right? Do it for fun, do it for charity, do it for the glory!

Brisbane Indie Wine Fest 2014 | Stewarts Wine Co
If you enjoy the odd tipple of the grape variety, then, like us, a tasting day is music to your ears! Join Stewarts Wine Co, as they present 28 independent wineries from Australia, New Zealand and countries further afield like France and the USA (ooh la la!). Reward your hardworking tastebuds with wines from the likes of Babich, Sevenhill and Reschke Wines to name but a few! You'll sample Billecart-Salmon Champagne to start the day, have a chance to meet the winemakers, have any of your burning wine questions answered and buy the featured wines, plus you get a Schott Weisel wine glass to drink your spoils when you get home!

Screen Printing Workshop | Hands On Brisbane
It turns out you can teach an old(ish) dog new tricks, and now is as good a time as any. Hands On Brisbane have just announced their winter workshop programs, where you can learn anything from the art of paper flowers, jewellery making, to terrarium, er, making... Join the talented team this Sunday to try your hand at Screen Printing with artist Simmone Spring. Tickets start at just $25, which includes all materials, plus you get to take your masterpiece home and make everyone jealous of your mad skills — so be sure to get in quick!

Tuesday 17th

Ari's Food Safari itinerary | Australian Mitochondrial Disease Foundation
If eating your way through some of Brisbane's most-loved restaurants makes you want to tear up your gym contract, then jump on board Ari's Food Safari and support a great cause! Be transported to five venues around the city — Depo, Vine restaurant, Chester Street, Alfred & Constance and Kwan Brothers — and revel in the gluttony of five dishes from each! All ticket proceeds will go towards the Australian Mitochondrial Disease Foundation.
