Thursday 31st

End of Season Super Sale | Blonde Venus
Here at the Urban List we can never say no to an end of season sale, and when the store in question is one of our favoutires, we're basically a lost cause. Especially when it includes brands like soot, Karen walker, Cheap Monday and Dr. Denim. Over four massive days, Blonde Venus is hosting their end of season super sale, with up to 70% off last season pieces as well as bargains straight from the vault! Brisbane fashionistas, this is an event you won't want to miss.

James Street Food Trail | James Street
Start salivating, Brisbane, 'cause the Food Trail is back! Foodies and wine lovers will descend upon James Street for four heavenly days of culinary indulgence. Whether you choose to kick off your weekend with a sitting duck feast at Chow House, a Negroni cocktail at Sixes and Sevens, or a degustation dinner at Gerard's Bistro, you — and your stomach — are in for a real treat. Gerard's Bistro Banquet | James Street
If you're a little unsure about how to settle into the James Street Food and Wine Trail, then let us help make your decision a tad easier. Gerard's Bistro are putting on a unique five-course degustation for this year's trail, plating up exquisite menu options including free range milk-fed roasted pork, warm pistachio financier, and cured mackerel. If you haven't secured your tickets for this monumental banquet, we suggest you do so quick smart!

Friday 1st

New Farm Cinemas' Grand Opening | New Farm
Movie buffs and celluloid die-hards, we have news: newly refurbished and remodeled, New Farm Six Cinemas are set to re-open to the public this Friday! So get your friends and fam' together for a flick in one of their six state of the art theatres, and check out the purple lounge while you are there. Tickets are now on sale!

Shri Yoga Official Opening | Tenerife
Yogi addicts, this one is for you! Shri Yoga is celebrating the opening of their Teneriffe studio with an opening party. There will be no classes scheduled for the day, but the event will be a great opportunity for loyal yoga fans to inspect the studio, meet the team and, of course, have a celebratory glass of bubbly!

Free Ice Cream For Swiss National Day | Mövenpick Ice Cream

You had us at ice cream! To celebrate Swiss National Day, the ever so generous folk at Mövenpick are spreading the love of the motherland with a free ice cream scoop. Get yourself down to one of their shop fronts to indulge in your sweeter side. But be quick — it's only available to the first 250 customers per store. We predict a stampede!

Saturday 2nd

The Urban Picnic | James Street Food and Wine Trail
Get down to the James Street Food and Wine Trail today, and pull up stumps at our very own Urban Picnic — hosted by, you guessed it, yours truely! Take a much needed rest from all that eating and drinking under the shade of the jacaranda trees, grab yourself a table and a picnic blanket, and slob out in astro turfed, picnic blanketed luxury! If you do get peckish — we can start work on our summer bodies next week — you're in the best spot, with Gerard's Bistro, Jocelyn's Provisions, Craggy Range Wine and a whole host more setting up their stalls right next to us!

When: 10am to 4pm

CatchLove Collective Pop Up Store | No Name Cafe
If you're feeling like you're in need of some summer inspiration, CatchLove Collective are showcasing their resort '14 collection, and holding a pop-up store over the weekend, giving sun-worshipping Brisbanites the perfect opportunity to snag a piece of essential summer attire.

When: Showcase 6-8pm, pop-up store 9am – 3pm Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
Where: Corner of Merthyr Road and Mark Street New Farm

Wednesday 6th

Cult Movie Classics with Kristian Fletcher | Room 60
We love a good, old-fashioned movie night (I mean, popcorn, right?). Fortunately for us, and all you Brisbane movie-buffs, Room 60 have teamed up with Kristian Fletcher to showcase a variety of cult movie classics on the first Wednesday of every month. With movies like Hercules in New York and Hollywood Boulevard, it's the perfect excuse to get your friends together for a movie night. Book your tickets now!

TW Fine Art Present Animata | James Street
TW Fine Art presents 'The Animata', a showcase of the photographic work of Veronica Ibañez Romagnoli. The exhibition will run until September 1st, with the official opening reception on the 6th August at TW's James Street studio.  Photography gurus and lovers of art, this is one Brisbane event you won't want to miss!

Winemaker's Dinner | Era Bistro
When we heard Australia's largest showcase of Tasmanian wine was coming to one of our favourite restaurants, we got a little excited. Tasmanian Unbottled has joined forces with Era Bistro, hosting this year's Brisbane showcase, giving Brisbane wine enthusiasts a rare opportunity to experience the latest offerings from Tassie's top wineries. Tickets are $135 per person, and numbers are strictly limited. So book in fast!
