Oh hey there, weekend, we meet again! And guess what Brisbane? Winter has officially come to an end (thank gosh!). So it's time to crawl out from under those duvets and into your favourite sundress/shorts and start looking for things to do in Brisbane this weekend! With guided tours, rock'n'roll performances, yoga open days, and whiskey appreciation nights, there's something for everyone this weekend in Brisbane

Friday 29th

Convicts and Crime Tour | Brisbane CBD
Discover the early history of Brisbane through the lens of crime (ooh, thrilling!) as you listen to stories of floggings (!), murder, corruption and riots. The Insider Tour's 'Convicts and Crime Tour' is a three-hour tour of Brisbane's fascinating convict history, finishing up in a cosy pub with some of Brisbane's best boutique brews. Crims plus beer? Sign us up! Tickets are $69 per person.

When: Daily from 10am

Bobkats & The Hemis | Upstairs To The Left
Fancy a night of 1950's inspired Rock'n'Roll? Then we've got the event for you! Hosted by Upstairs to the Left, guests can look forward to a night of old school rock'n'roll, as well as dancing and sing-a-longs with the guys from Bobkats, and The Hemis. Oh, and a bevvie or two!

When: Bar from 6pm, Music from 8:30pm

Brisbane Arcade Presents "Fashion Oasis" | Queen Street Mall 
This is one event that all you fashionistas won't want to miss! If you were unlucky and missed out on MBFF tickets, never fear. The Brisbane Arcade are hosting lunchtime fashion parades as part of this year's Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival. The parades will showcase highlights from the latest collections of their most esteemed designers, and is a must for all you MBFF die-hards. 

When: 12pm

Sunday 31st

Raw Power Yoga Open Day | Raw Power Yoga
As a big thank you to all the dedicated Brisbane yoga fans out there, Raw Power Yoga are hosting a free yoga open day this weekend! With a Dj spinning beats during the 9am class, and loads of giveaways on offer, this Brisbane event is a yogis paradise!  

When: 9am-12pm

Monday 1st

Jack Daniels Appreciation Night | The Gresham 
With another long week up ahead of us, we think a Jack Daniel's whiskey appreciation night is the perfect cure for any manic Monday. The Gresham is playing host to the event, where guests will be taken on a sensory experience with a range of Jacky-D tasters and mouth-watering food on offer. Think Buffalo wings with blue cheese dipping sauce, Jack Daniels pulled pork soft tacos, and cornbread with warm, smokey maple syrup. Do yourself a favour, and reserve your spot now.

Cherry Blossom Festival | Sake 
To celebrate the beginning of Spring, Sake are hosting a month long Cherry Blossom Festival, with head chef Shaun Presland's signature spring share menu, and a spring lunch menu as the highlights of the month-long celebration. With specialty dishes including wagyu beef tataki, salt and pepper bug tails, and steamed 'glacier 51' black cod on the menu, you'll be rining in Spring in style. Also on offer is the Sake 'Kimono Doll' cocktail, a refreshing blend of cherries, coco and iichiki shochu. Delish! Bookings are essential.

Tuesday 2nd

Spanish Tuesday's | The Euro 
Who can say no to a Spanish feast? When we heard that CBD faves The Euro are dedicating Tuesday nights to all things Spanish, we may have let out a few happy screams. Come along and immerse yourself in the best of Spanish culture (i.e. the food), with an eight-course tapas share menu awaiting your arrival. You'd be mad to miss this Brisbane foodie event. 

When: 6pm

Wednesday 3rd

Hercules in New York Screening | Room 60
It may be the movie that Arnie would prefer you forgot about, but Kristian Fletcher and Room 60 are bringing this classic out of the shadows. Cult movie classics are screening at Room 60 on the first Wednesday of every month (cool, we know) and to kick things off for the month of September, Room 60 will be screening Hercules in New York. Tickets are $10 and include entry and your first drink, so round up your friends and book your tickets now.

When: Screening begins at 6:30pm

A Doll's House | Roundhouse Theatre  6th– 27th of September
In a superb new version of the classic play, re-worked by Lally Katz, and directed by Steven Mitchell Wright, A Doll's House — one of the world's most performed plays — will be the highlight of La Boite's season and the 2014 Brisbane Festival. A tense psychological thriller, A Doll's House is a story of domestic revolution, motherhood, and the secrets and lies that swirl beneath a picture-perfect marriage. Definitely a must see, Brisbane!
