A World Of Yum | Treasury Casino & Hotel
Get ready to fall off the diet wagon folks, because the mother of all food festivals is coming to town! October At The Lodge | Black Bear Lodge
Thursday kicks off a month of celebrations at Black Bear Lodge, with special performance by Woodlock, as they debut their brand new single 'The Garden'. The month-long party will see live shows from the likes of FourPlay, Soul Train, and the Pierce Brothers, just to name a few. Much-loved Hendra cafe, Dandelion & Driftwood are celebrating their 4th anniversary with a very special giveaway, offering their customers a sneak peek at their brand new Queen of Pops range of coffee popsicles (just in time for summer!). Oktoberfest! | RNA Showgrounds
It's that time of year again Brisbanites — Oktoberfest! Australia's largest German festival is Brisbane's most anticipated cultural event and it's easy to see why. As always, the Brisbane RNA Showgrounds will be transformed into a traditional German festival, complete with Oktoberfest tent with authentic German trimmings to set the scene, and an electrifying atmosphere encapsulating all things German. The festival features top-notch German fare for all the food lovers, traditional German dancers, authentic German beir (of course!), and special performances by the Bavarian Oktoberfest Band, flown direct from Munich! Seriously, don't skip this one.

Laruche's 5th Birthday Weekend | Laruche
It seems like only yesterday we were shaking it at the opening, but now valley fave, Laruche are all grown up and celebrating their 5th birthday this weekend as only they know how—with three epic days of partying! Sydney DJ duo CSMNT61 are kicking off the party on Friday night, followed by their resident DJs on Saturday night (as well as a very special birthday toast at midnight), and finishing the weekend with their weekly event, Night Cap on Sunday. Because they're cool, the kids at Laruche want to give you a birthday present, giving away $500 vouchers on the night (find the comp details here!)

An Exhibition of The Art of Costume | Westfield Carindale
Ballet's elaborate costumes are centre stage at Westfield Carindale for the month of October as An Exhibition of The Art of Costume takes over. Placed throughout the shopping centr, the installations will feature works from productions such as The Nutcracker, The Little Mermaid, A Midsummer Night's Dream and The Sleeping Beauty. The piece-de-resistance of this stunning exhibition is 21 dancing swans from Swan Lake, suspended within a double-story void in Westfield Carindale's fashion precinct. It's free, and open during shopping centre hours.

Launching Motto | Institute of Modern Art
Our favourite cultural hub, Fortitude Valley's IMA has re-launched with a beautiful new interior courtesy of Studio Miessen, and is now better than ever. Part of IMA's transformation includes a new branch of Motto, a very cool worldwide network of stores dedicated to books, magazines, and artists' publications. This Saturday is Motto's official launch—expect beautiful people and even better looking art.

Four of Brisbane's leading names in fashion will come together to raise funds to support local homeless women as part of the annual 'Zonta Fashion' Showcase. Featuring designs from Sacha Drake, Pia du Pradal, Julie Tenghdal and The 400 Co, the event will be co-hosted by advocate for the homeless, Mrs. Lisa Newman.
