Oh hey there, long weekend! Brisbane, we've got an awesome line-up of events to attend this weekend. From baseball games, G20 parties, and Sunday roast sessions, to LEGO workshops and pool parties, there's absolutely no reason for any of you to be vacating our beautiful city for the long weekend. G20 or no G20, Brisbane is pumping this weekend!

Thursday 13th

Brisbane Bandits 'G20' Baseball Weekend | AFA Stadium
With the inner city on lock down this weekend due to the G20, round up the family and head to Newmarket and cheer on the Brisbane Bandits as they take on the Melbourne Aces, with nightly games from Thursday through til Sunday.

Joe Hamilton Book Launch | Institute of Modern Art
Motto and IMA have joined forces to present the Australian launch of Melbourne-based artist Joe Hamilton's book, Hyper Geography. The launch will be accompanied by a looped projection of selected works by the artist, as well as refreshments for all guests. The launch kicks off at 6pm

Friday 14th

G20 Public Holiday Celebration | The Regatta Hotel
Just because it's a public holiday (and the G20 just happens to be on), doesn't mean you miss out on a party! The Regatta Hotel has a swag of events happening for the public hol', including live music in the courtyard, $10 cocktails, and premium Wagyu in the Boatshed. Head down to The Walrus Club as Blues singer Shanon Watkins performs from 8pm.

Colour Me Brisbane Encore | Brisbane City
Brisbane families, this one's for you. With the arrival of the G20 leaders this weekend, the popular Colour Me Brisbane will continue right through until the end of the G20 Summit on Sunday 16th. This is a free event for everyone to enjoy, so grab the crew and settle in for a night of celebrations.

Saturday 15th

Build Your LEGO Christmas Workshop | Westfield Carindale
LEGO fans are invited to get into the Christmas spirit this weekend with two days of LEGO building at Westfield Carindale. The perfect event for parents to get the little ones involved in the excitement of Christmas, watch the tikes build their very own LEGO Christmas decorations, and maybe join in?

Sunday 16th

Sampology & Friends | Yeronga Park Swimming Pool
Sampology & Friends brings a collective of Brisbane's most exciting music talent to the Yeronga Park Swimming Pool for a very special, all-ages summer pool party, celebrating the 50th anniversary of one of the most iconic Brisbane pools. Come join in the fun from 12pm!

Sunday Sizzle | Watt Restaurant & Bar
Sunday's are set to sizzle at Watt Restaurant & Bar this summer. Assemble the crew and come on down for a delicious spit roast on the waterfront from 12pm, and chilled tunes by DJ Luc from 3pm. With $29 Pimms and sangria jugs, you couldn't possibly miss this one.

Monday 17th

Scent Studio | Westfield Chermside

When it comes to a mid-week party, DC is where it's at! Tuesday sees the arrival of Beer & Board Games at Dutch Courage, with classic games including Jenga, Connect 4, Trivial Pursuit, Scrabble and more on offer. Oh, and $7 pale ales will also be pouring. Be there!

World Movies Secret Cinema | Hidden location
This is the coolest movie event to hit Brisbane. Like, ever. World Movies Secret Cinema will make its highly anticipated debut in Brisbane after sold-out sessions in Sydney and Melbourne for four spectacular nights from 11th-14th December—in association with the inaugural Brisbane Asia Pacific Film Festival. What is a secret cinema, you ask? A top-secret location has been paired with a mystery film, transporting viewers into a dramatic world (hot tip: Brisbane's World Movies Secret Cinema is rumoured to have a 1920s theme). You'll be SMS'ed the secret location on the day. Exciting stuff!
