Dog fans, movie buffs, food fanatics and lovers of the outdoors (aka everyone), listen up. American Express Openair Cinemas is back for a wonderful season of flicks in the glorious Brisbane spring air—and the best bit is your dog is invited!
But that’s not all there is to rave about, running from 6 October to 19 November in South Bank Parklands, there will be all kinds of purveyors of food and booze on hand to keep your taste buds happy.
Join Salt Meats Cheese at one of their three pop-up alfresco long table dinners, which involve three courses paired with wine and a heckin’ delicious truffle pecorino pasta, arancini and wood fired pizzas. If you don’t make it to one of those, the Salt Meats Cheese gang will be churning out delicious Italian eats for each and every session, so be sure to wear those stretchy pants.
The cocktail bar will be serving all of the summer classics, craft beers from 4Pines and Giesen Wines. On top of this the festival vibes will be flowing freely, with live beats from DJs, crafty corners where you can pimp up a pineapple, take a macramé masterclass or learn how to braid your hair Kylie Jenner style.
If you’re short of a four-legged friend to snuggle up with during the movie, the RSPCA will be bringing some of their cutest pooches to select screenings for you to pat, so be sure to get to one of those.
And don’t even get us started on the flicks. From Logan Lucky and The Big Sick to Battle of the Sexes, Kingsman: The Golden Circle and Blade Runner 2049 (helloooo Mr Gosling), there’s something to suit all persuasions.
Plus, those lucky ducks out there with an American Express credit card are welcome to enjoy the VIP experience in the American Express Invites Lounge. You’ll get your own lounger, a cushion, blanket and tasty bites, not to mention 15% off your ticket when you pay with your AMEX card.
With tickets going for as little as $12.50, there’s never been a better time to plan your next movie date!
