The Verdict

Iconic Bucci restaurant on James Street is an all-out Italian dining powerhouse. With a firm focus on fresh, local produce and innovating traditional recipes, you’ll step into their light and airy space and be instantly charmed by its character. The chic fit out, sleek mirrored bar, spectacular open kitchen and huge windows opening onto bustling James St paired with their signature, modern take on rustic regional Italian recipes make Bucci a truly household name in Brisbane.

The team at Bucci prides itself on knowing all their local suppliers personally or sourcing ingredients direct from Italy, and it really shines through in the authentic seasonal menu of share plates, like their legendary arancini that change with the season, or the burrata tartufata with truffled James Street honey, pancetta, blueberries and walnuts.

The carnivorously inclined will revel in Bucci’s selection of dried and cured meats—oh, and let’s not forget their impeccable mains and delicious (read: addictive) desserts. We’re calling it: their insanely good chocolate cake—that models its recipe on London’s River Café’s famous Chocolate Nemesis cake—is right up there with the best we’ve ever tasted. If you have never tried it, you haven’t lived!

Because Bucci is always a good idea, they have you covered with something different going on every day of the week. Get down for Aperitivo Hour in the Bucci Bar daily between 5pm and 7pm where you can sip pretty on classic Italian bevs (did someone say Aperol Spritz?!) with a cheeky complimentary assaggini. Bucci is all about celebrating fresh and local produce which they showcase fabulously in their Vacation Series Lunch every day of the week: a regional mini menu with two courses for just $28 and three courses for $34. What better excuse to enjoy Bucci’s award-winning wine list!

Everyone knows that Tuesday nights are date night, so kick it off with dinner at Bucci followed by a complimentary ticket to Palace Cinema right next door to make it total #DateNightGoals. To score this epic deal all you need to do is call them to book, and quote #datenight. Then because Thursday is basically Friday, which is basically the weekend, it’s time to celebrate with Bring It! where Bucci will provide the fab Italian fare and you can bring your fave bottle of vino for just $10.
