If you love intimate, Michelin-star level dining, you’re going to love Butterfly, Woolloongabba’s new spot for schmancy Korean feeds. This omakase-style spot comes to us from Michelin-star trained owner Alex Kim and chef Emanuele Pelonero, who are dishing up an ever-changing multi-course menu of fine Korean fare that’s a far cry from the usual Korean fried chicken you usually stick to.
The tiny, all black restaurant has just 22 seats, with 14 of those lined up around the central kitchen, so you can watch as the chefs work their magic whipping up your feast. You don't get to choose what you'll be eating here, but that's part of the fun—instead you'll leave it totally up to the chefs, who'll take you on a journey through incredible Korean fare crafted using seasonal ingredients. Think steamed abalone with focaccia, egg roll with grated daikon and char grilled gochuajang marinated pork belly, with the menu changing almost every day, and encompassing anywhere from nine to 16 different courses.
