Since Lola Coffee opened a few years ago in a back street of Woolloongabba, this gorgeous (and totally calming) cafe has stolen Brisbane's coffee crown! It's official, there is no such thing as a boring workout anymore, thanks to Dance Barre by Katie Dickens opening in Albion! Enigma Underground is our new favourite underground bar. You'll find Enigma popping up beneath Cloudland this month, in their hidden cellar bar. This haunt is only open on select Friday nights through June and July so be sure to check their website for more details. Brisbane's favourite kitchen emporium-come-wonderland, Taste has moved from its iconic James Street location, and has set up new digs in Red Hill! Located in a beautifully renovated workers cottage (Insta snappers at the ready!), Taste's new store still showcases the very best curated homewares, products and utensils they're known for, but in addition, now also serves up coffee (courtesy of Toby's Estate), sweet treats and pastries (thanks to Jocelyn's Provisions), plus a deli where you can pick up luxury goodies for your pantry!

Brisbane has finally landed a huuuge organic super store in Rocklea, right next to the markets, so you know it's fresh. So, expect mega-fresh organic-produce from Aussie farmers including fruit, veg, meat, milk, eggs, bread, natural cosmetics and a whole lot more. There's also a cafe, serving up (you guesed it) organic, local goodies. The aptly named Evolve Cafe does a great gourmet sandwich, and a whole heap of cold pressed juices. It's a one stop shop.

Happiness Hub

The Happiness Hub, in Albion, is the little slice of happiness and warmth we've been waiting for. Just as the name suggests, it's a hub for happiness. It can be a co-working space for creatives or general busy bees on Tuesdays, with barista made coffees and baked goodies (cakes, loaves and a whole heap of other deliciousness free from gluten, dairy and refined sugar, but full of love) from Baked Livingness with wifi and good vibes. The rest of the time it's a community space for events, markets and workshops, with their Winter Pop Up Market kicking things off. Plus, the space is super cute; think exposed wood details and splashes of hot pink. You can also hire it out for your next event and treat your taste buds to catering from Baked Livingness.

Pizza Caffe

The Pizza Caffe at The University of Queensland in St Lucia is a local institution for good reason. There are 26 pizzas on offer, one for each letter of the alphabet, each named after a famous Italian movie star or director as a nod to their affiliation with arthouse Schonell Theatre next door.

House Of Hygge

House of Hygge is bringing a taste of the Scandanavian to Brisbane, and we're not complaining. Hygge is the Danish word for taking pleasure in the ordinary, a valuable lesson and a great life motto. This new West End eatery boasts an array of Danish classics such as the smorrebrod, frikadeller (Danish meatballs) and rye sandwiches. The Shave Saloon, Bar & Kitchen have just opened their doors in Queen Street, and we couldn't be more excited. NeNe Chicken

NeNe Chicken has just opened up in the CBD, and we couldn't be more excited. "Ne" is Korean for "yes" which is what we say whenever someone offers us delicious fried chicken. NeNe chicken is one of South Korea's most beloved fried chicken spots, and it's finally in Brisbane. Yaaas. Offering up our favourite staples of fried chicken and beer, we're already obsessed with this spot.

Charlie’s Raw Squeeze

Charlie's Raw Squeeze, now in Ashgrove, is a vegan one stop shop for fresh, healthy and totally delicious eats. As the name suggests, you can expect raw vegan goodies and a whole lot of gluten free and refined sugar free offerings. Try a 'squeeze bowl' or a smoothie if you're hungry, or a raw sweet treat if you're looking to spoil yourself. Ps. They do happy hour, but for juices!

Another fresh face to add to Brisbane's burgoning dining scene, Metropole Bar Eatery in the CBD is a game-changing restaurant, set to ablaze your fickle tastebuds! The dining hall-style precinct will feature various cuisines—Japanese, Vietnamese, America, Italian, the list goes on—plus a number of bars, including a covered laneway, cocktail and espresso bar. Metropole Bar Eatery is due to open in August, so stay tuned!

North-siders prepare for a sugar rush because Lucid Sweets has opened its first IRL store in Geebung! Boasting beautiful meringue kisses as far as the eye can see, you can now get your hands on Lucid's infamous sweet treats whenever the sugary mood strikes. With a huge array of mini meringue flavours including rosewater and pistachio, raspberry and coconut, plus our personal fave, toasted coconut, Lucid Sweets is also keeping the more savoury-inclined customers content with freshly toasted bagels, croissants and sandwiches all day, everyday.

Coffee doesn't come quicker than at Eva St Privateer. Banter? Sure, but don't expect to be waiting around for a life-affirming brew. They’ve limited themselves to just a few things done exceptionally well and they’ll let you enjoy them in what looks like a fairytale lumberjack’s backyard. Expect classic sangas, express breakfast nosh for the road and, of course, cups of the best brew going.

Word on the grapevine is Brisbane’s cheese game will soon be elevated to the next level, with the addition of French ex-pat Sarah Thuillet's gourmet fromagerie Emile and Solange. Side Street Kitchen

Side Street Kitchen, in Moorooka, is easy to drive past, but you'll be kicking yourself once you realise the deliciousness that lies inside. With a team of super friendly staff serving up all your fave brekky offerings and some pretty decent coffee, this may just be your new fave spot. The Workman's Burger is just epic: hashbrown, fried egg, bacon, hollandaise all served between golden toasted slices of Turkish bread, is perfect for the most hungover of us all, or just the hungriest. You also can't go past the eggs benny here though; the hollandaise is one of the best we've had (citrus and chives, yes please!) and the eggs are cooked to perfection, every time.

Club Sosay, in Paddington, opening on May 21 is a cafe and bar dedicated to board games! Is there anything better than epic eats and delicious bites shared over a (fiercely competitive) game of your choice? Nope. To be honest, we're kind of just terrified by how much we can consume during a single of sitting of Monopoly...

Jackalope Slow Foods

A regular at the Jan Powers Farmers Markets, this unique food stall takes it slower. No need to put up with unsatisfactory meat-cooking, as Jackalope Slow Food serve slow-cooked and hand-pulled meat rolls that burst with all of your favourite meaty flavours. If you want to shake it up a bit they prepare caramelized banana and white chocolate ganache milkshakes that are borderline addictive.

Pelican’s Catch

Located in Mt Ommaney Shopping Centre, Pelican's Catch has the freshest seafood on the Westside. Open seven days, Pelican's Catch vends premium quality seafood, and freshly fillets their fish and shucks their oysters in store. Punters can also opt to dine in and Pelican's Catch will cook your fillet of choice to perfection. With market fresh seafood arriving daily, the fresh selection changes constantly so there's always something new to try.

Lokal + Co

Move over IKEA, there's a new Nordic-inspired hotspot in town. Lokal + Co is the newest cafe to join West End's epic food line up. Owned by Norwegian expat and chef Herge Olsen and Corey Thoms, Lokal + Co offers the likes of heart-shaped buttermilk waffles with whipped ricotta and honeycombe, house-cured gravalax salmon with rye, and open sandwiches with barbeque sardines. Yum! The only thing that makes Lokal + Co even more appealing are the sleek Scandi-style interiors and the fact that they are dog-friendly. Winning!

The Fortitude Valley has just added a sophisticated new art-deco restaurant into the mix in the form of Nickel Kitchen & Bar. Open for all of your wining and dining needs, Nickel's leather booths, dark timber interiors and simple but well executed menu make it a must for a long lunch or really long dinner. High on our list of must-eats? The Barossa Valley Chicken Kiev, the sizzling bay prawns with chilli and the honey-roasts chicken waffles.

Boundary Line Bistro

Boundary Line Bistro has added some serious foodie cred into the most unlikely of places: the Morningside Panthers Football Club.  Expect footy club fare like you've never seen before (as in, this shiz is fancy). The menu is full of gems like crispy skin salmon and mac and cheese croquettes, plus, a whole menu dedicated to burgers (on milk buns, no less) and another menu dedicated to sundaes. Not to mention all of the classics: there's parmies, steak, chilli crunch wings and fish 'n' chips. It safe to say this is one footy club bistro we're actually excited to eat at.

Get ready to don your bibs because Brisbane has got a new crab shack in the form of St. James Crabhouse & Kitchen in Kangaroo Point! With Red Claw, Spanner Crabs, Moreton Bay Bugs, Lobster and ALL the sauces on the menu, we can't wait to indulge in primo seafood on the double.

Mamaku

Mamaku, in Clayfield, is bringing Brisbane a heavy punch of Indonesian flavours, and we're loving it! Mamaku means my mother, so you know the food on offer is authentic and rich in family tradition. Keeping with the family vibe, the menu is comprised of share plates that the whole crew can enjoy. Expect classic Asian flavours like dim sims, slow cooked rendang, pork belly, some epic wings and whole lotta chilli. We're obsessed with the Kripik Kulit Babi though, that's a whole bowl of home made pork crackling. Yum!

Set to take the Spring Hill social set by storm, is new cafe Two Donkeys. Serving up a killer breakfast and lunch menu to the hungry hoardes, plus grinding fave Gold Coast beans, Blackboard Coffee exclusively, Two Donkeys is the latest cafe to open in the regenerated suburb.

The Precinct at St Leger

Housed beneath the historic St Leger stand at Eagle Farm Racecourse, The Precinct at St Leger is the newest addition to the Brisbane cafe scene. Adorned with cosy leather sofas, an 'I-could-while-away-the-entire-day' atmosphere, not to mention a kick-ass menu (courtesy of the Wilde Kitchen crew), St Leger offers up delicious, healthy options for breakfast and lunch, and they make a mean coffee!

Serving up all our Vietnamese faves like their epic 24 hour pho, a seriously authentic Banh Mi, deliciously fresh rice paper rolls and other faves. Slack's Track Cafe is the newest venture from the peeps behind 85 Miskin Street. The freshly opened venue is serving up breakfast and lunch on Logan Road in Mount Gravatt. The cafe's moniker came from the area's history; Slack's Track got its name from settler William Slack #TheMoreYouKnow.

Billykart Provisions

Billykart is a Brisbane fave, but now we have Billykart Provisions. It's a deli and bottle shop, in the heart of West End, that has aisles and aisles filled with the most delicious groceries we've ever had the pleasure of seeing. Yuuum. Expect freshly made salads, cakes that resemble works of art, and desserts (snickers tart, anyone?). The best part? Epic time-saving ready made dinners from our fave Brisbane dining institution. Shut up and take our money already, Billykart Provisions.

Uncle Ho

Uncle Ho is an epic new Vietnamese beer cafe, or Bia Hoi as it's known in Vietnam, in the Valley. Based on the rustic and raw beer cafes of Vietnam, expect street food staples such as rice paper rolls, banh mi and pho and fresh beer aplenty at Uncle Ho.

What does Brisbane always need more of? Awesome Vietnamese pho of course! We're stoked that brand new restaurant Phat Pho is coming to Newstead in April bringing with it delicious pho in time for the (slightly) cooler autumn weather. There will also be banh mi baguettes, rice paper rolls and super strong Vietnamese-style coffee.

Catchment Brewing Co

Housed on the corner of Boundary and Vulture Street, Catchment Brewing Co has quickly made a name for itself amongst the West End craft beer community. Their core range includes plenty of pun-derful creations—the Whynot Lager has certainly caught our attention—that pair perfectly with a burg from Catchment’s plant-based range. Currently on tap are a range of limited edition brews just waiting to be sampled by Brisbane’s beer connoisseurs, the most popular of which you can score in a four-pack. Catchment even sells beers by the carton, so if you find a flavour you love, be sure to scour their site so you can stock up at home.
