Shishou by Takashi
This is sushi, but not like you've ever seen it before. Shishou by Takashi serves up the Valley's freshest Japanese fine dining, with Chef Takashi Nami bringing his 40 years of experience to a stunning minimalist 14-seater restaurant on Brunswick Street. You'll dine at a traditional Kappo style bar, meaning you can watch the chef cook up your delicate sushi and sashimi right before your eyes.
Here you won't pick just one or two plates of sushi, instead you'll choose between a short, medium or long course degustation, depending on how hungry you are. After a couple of entrees, you'll be served from 8 to 15 different variations of omakese nigiri, with artful morsels like miso-glazed black cod and nigiri layered with foie gras and truffle prepped right in front of you and dished up as single portions—so you have room for the next 14.
All the degustations are served with specialty tea, but there's also a short list of wines and champagne on offer, along with plum wine, shochu and sake. This is truly a feast worth your dollar. Just be sure to make a booking in advance.
