The ninth season of world’s most iconic FX anthology series is upon us and there’s much to know.

First and foremost, the next season of FX’s infamous horror show has been donned American Horror Story: 1984. Details of the actual plot are yet to be confirmed but word on the street is that this time around, AHS will reference cult slasher films from the 80s like Friday The 13th.

American Horror Story:1984 will also be sans Sarah Paulson, or at least, she’ll only make a small cameo despite holding major roles in the eight preceding seasons and casually scoring five Emmy nominations for her previous roles on the show.

For now, the only confirmed actors include leads Emma Roberts, who’s no stranger to AHS having already played Madison Montgomery in seasons Coven and Apocalypse, and Olympic skier Gus Kenworthy.

American Horror Story: 1984 will air on FX on September 18.

Can't wait until then? Here's every show on Netflix worth binge-watching right now.
