Walking is our kind of vibe. It gets you moving, gets your heart rate up, and we've got some seriously stunning routes at our disposal. So, yeah, walking is our fave exercise. And, because we’re certain walking is just about everyone’s cup of tea, we’ve whipped up this handy little guide to South East Queensland's absolute best walks that tick off the holy trinity of walking route essentials: they’re pretty, they’re near good cafes, and dogs are more than welcome.

#1 Kangaroo Point
Anyone worth their weight in kale knows that Kangaroo Point is pretty much the epicentre of fitness in Brisbane. So chuck on your active wear, grab a walking buddy, and head to Kangaroo Point cliffs the next time you’re feeling #Fitspo. The walk starts at the base of the cliffs near South Bank’s maritime museum and traipses along the river until you hit the Story Bridge. If you’re looking for a view this is your spot, but don’t forget to hit the infamous Kangaroo Point Cliff stairs and check out the vista from the top. #2 The University Of Queensland Lakes
We know, we know—your old Uni is not exactly the ideal spot for a relaxing afternoon stroll. Talk about exam flashbacks…But any UQ alumni can attest to the fact the grounds are ridiculously stunning. Be sure to plan your visit to coincide with Jacaranda season if you’re after a seriously stunning walk. There are walking tracks along the river and through the campus. Plan your visit around January 7 or March 3 and you'll score you’ll score yourself a taste of Pump+!
Brisbane is the river city, after all, so it only makes sense that one of our best walks would be the Riverwalk, right? The Riverwalk is the perfect walk to bring out of towners on, or even just perfect for one of those days where you’re seriously feeling Brisbane’s vibes. Start your walk at Eagle Street Pier and follow the path all the way into the glorious New Farm Park. January 20 and March 4 are the lucky days for Pump+ samples, here!
#4 Mt Coot-tha
Mt Coot-tha is a stunner. Brisbane’s fave mountain is home to some stunning walking tracks, including water falls, Aboriginal art, forest tracks and even a Botanical Garden. Pack a picnic and head for the shaded BBQ spots for a more ~lazy~ walk, or head straight to the top for one of Brisbane’s best views (and sweats). January 21 is where the sample-magic happens here, guys!
#5 Rocks Riverside Park
Rocks Riverside Park may just be one of Brisbane’s best-kept secrets. Tucked away in Seventeen Mile Rocks, the park is nestled on a quaint pocket of land running alongside the Brisbane river. For being in the middle of suburbia, this spot has some serious country vibes. There are bushwalking tracks, paved cement tracks, and even a water play area. Get down here on February 2 to try Pump+.
#6 Burleigh Esplanade To Miami Headland
Start from the very bottom of Burleigh at the Mowbray Park Surf Life Saving Club and make your way north along the Esplanade to Burleigh Heads and up over Miami Headland. This walk is only about 3km so take your time and enjoy the chill vibes of the beach. The short walk up Miami Headland is totally worth it to enjoy one of the best views on the coast.
#7 Kirra To Rainbow Bay Via Greenmount Headland
If you’re looking to mix up your walking game, look no further than the Kirra to Rainbow Bay track. With total beachfront views, it’s a no-brainer as to why this is one of the most beautiful walks in the area. This cheeky 2.5km route is ideal to get the blood pumping before a well-deserved brunch (naturally) and can be smashed out in under half an hour. This track passes over the gorgeous Greenmount Headland. Sounds pretty perfect to us.
#8 Oceanway Stroll—The Spit To Point Danger
If you’re up for a challenge then you need to tackle the 37km walk spanning from The Spit in Southport to Point Danger. This gorgeous trail will take you along the entirety of the all the Gold Coast faves including Surfers Paradise, Burleigh as your halfway point, Currumbin Beach, Kirra, and Coolangatta with countless Insta opportunities along the way.
