So you’ve made the call… if you’re going to have a love shindig celebrating your vows, it’s going to happen within easy access to the Gold Coast. And who could blame you?
Stunning beaches, rainforest settings, green valleys… the region pretty much offers the perfect backdrop for every style of wedding you could dream up. Now to find the venue!
If you’ve lived around these parts for some time, chances are you’re already familiar with Plantation House. Next door to Tropical Fruit World in the lush rolling hills of Cudgen/Duranbah, this stately plantation-style homestead has stood proudly in this location for 30 years.
Established in 1987, it’s a venue that holds cherished memories for many who’ve attended weddings, parties and dinners here throughout the venue’s long and colourful history.
Though what you may not know is that, over the last 18 months, this elegant property has been meticulously refreshed and re-energised back to its original glory, and is now at the service of a new age of brides and their grooms seeking a dreamy rural setting with all the trimmings.
To ensure this new era will be the Plantation House’s defining chapter, the team behind one of the region’s most lauded restaurants, Fins at Kingscliff’s Salt Village, has taken the helm to provide both event planning and top-notch catering by Fins’ celebrity chef Steven Snow and his talented crew.
If chef-hat caliber food on your wedding night is just as important to you as your perfect dress—where a menu that champions farm to plate and the freshest of local produce and seafood will be remembered by your guests for years to come—you can put your absolute trust in these guys. Think: three-hour slow cooked lamb shoulder, sake flamed pork, BBQ flame tail snapper plus a dessert bar to die for, and you’re beginning to paint the delectable picture.
With a majestic Poinciana tree in the front garden flanked by sweeping views across the fertile Tweed farmlands and to Mount Warning, the regal white homestead, cactus garden at the rear and rustic, natural materials around each corner, you’ve got magazine-worthy backdrops for your wedding photos at every turn. Seriously guys, it’s pretty perfect.
Once inside, sit down at whimsically decorated long tables (with capacity for up to 300 of your nearest and dearest), under rustic exposed beams, fairy lights and surrounded by well-established greenery spilling down the rafters and out of planter boxes. You really won’t need much extra to create your ideal reception!
Overwhelmed already and you’ve only just decided on the venue? These guys are well connected with some of the best wedding suppliers on the Gold Coast and northern NSW region, from florists to photographers, stylists and cake makers, we honestly wish we could get married alllll over again, just to throw a magical soiree with Fins at Plantation House.
Oh, and there’s even whisper of plans to open to the general public for gorgeously long Sunday lunches in the New Year, so you can spoil mum or your bestie, celebrate something with an intimate group, or test drive your dream wedding venue before locking in your dates. We’re already swooning over the possibility.
