While Frida Sol opened its doors back in December, the second level was still a mystery. But the wait is now over, with owner Ryan Renwick revealing the impressive, second storey extension and to say we’re hooked is an understatement.

Design wise it’s made for Instagram with Gold Coast entrepreneur Morgan Walsh, the mastermind behind Bonita Bonita, FuFu and Póke Póke, once again weaving her magic to create an achingly cool space that has us wanting to hang out and sink margaritas all day long.

Think potted succulents dotted throughout the space, clusters of candles, copper accents and textured walls that we just couldn’t help but run our hands up and down. There are special touches throughout, like the tiki-style bar with a thatched roof that looks like it’s straight off a beach in Tulum.

The interiors of this Palm Beach taqueria are seriously stunning. By day the 40-seat space is a beachy paradise, transporting you to the Mexican coast with 180-degree views of the sea. By night, the moody lighting transforms it into a sexy, cave-like utopia.

The full menu is available upstairs—think grilled corn smothered in cilantro crema, beef cheek empanadas and the market fish ceviche—as well as their epic cocktails. If you ask us, you can’t go past the Bonita margarita (our forever favourite with the chipotle salt rim) and the Mama Cass with vodka, passionfruit, pineapple juice, elderflower liqueur and mint.

With its own bar, it’s also available for private hire, so keep this spot in mind if you want to take your upcoming party to the next level.

Frida Sol is open seven days.
