If you’re not familiar, GABS—the Great Australian Beer SpecTAPular—is a massive beer event that aims to quench your thirst in a big way. It's coming to Brisbane this Saturday and will feature 170 unique craft beers and ciders that have been brewed specifically for GABS.
GABS is the brainchild of local beer champion Steve Jaffares, the man behind Melbourne's ever-popular Stomping Ground. And this year will see their first event in Brisbane.
“For us, GABS has always been about sharing our love of craft beer and cider with as many people as possible, so bringing the festival experience to Brisbane has long been on the agenda. We’re thrilled to now be able to make this a reality, and can’t wait to showcase the booming craft beer scene to Queenslanders in true GABS style!”
There’s something at GABS for wine connoisseurs as well, with festival-goers able to create personalised interactive wine labels at the 19 Crimes Wine Bar, which sits alongside the Jameson Caskmates Bar and the Milawa Cheese Hub.
If you’re in the learning mood, you’ll be happy to know that education is a big focus at this year’s festival. Check out the Ariston Food & Drink Experience or the Mornington Peninsula Brewery Craft College to learn the ins and outs of the craft beer world.
