The Two Foodie Events You Absolutely Must Attend This Month

By Sophie Oddo
5th Oct 2018

Let’s be real, foodie events are THE best events.

Whether it’s a themed soirée, long lunch extravaganza or pop-up festival, there’s nothing better than treating yourself to an indulgent foodie experience you KNOW you deserve.

So, to ensure we fill our calendars with the best, we’ve enlisted the help from our friends at The Star Gold Coast to serve up two of this month’s best foodie events on the GC.

8-Course Feast Feat. Starry Night Sky

On Friday October 12, The Star will host their Dinner Under The Stars event on the Garden Kitchen & Bar lawn.

Unsure of what the night will hold? You can expect the evening to look a little like this: Arrive to a welcome drink (the best kind of welcome) and pre-feast canapés on the deck, just to whet your appetite before the real business begins.

Next up, you’ll take your seats at the long table. Think a set-up of serious Pinterest proportion; saloon lights, kilometres of table runner, live acoustic music - the lot. Get ready to pin.

Then get ready to pick your jaw up from the table when you watch the smorgasbord of food come out. Showcasing Garden Kitchen & Bar’s new share-style concept, you’ll be treated to course, after course, after course of the season’s most delicious and fresh produce.

With more food than you can poke a fork at, we'll be making sure to leave surplus room in our bellies for the Maremma Duck Breast with cherry compote, white asparagus and artichoke chips, along with the Saltbush Marinated Milly Hillamb Shoulder with garden pea puree, sugar snap peas and tendrils.

After the 8-course feast you can relax and take in that starry night sky with a bev in hand.

Long Lunch Like The Italians Do

Can’t make it to Italy for lunch? No problems. On Sunday 21 October Cucina Vivo are throwing the Italian Long Lunch of your dreams with their authentic cuisine, inspired by the Amalfi Coast.

Inspired by Italian life, this lunch embraces the delicate art of slow living with a long and delicious procession of authentic Italian dishes over three mouth-watering hours.

We really don't want to have to pick favourites, buuuut if we were held at knife point we might have to say the house made spaghetti marinara with Australian fresh seafood OR the braised pork fillet with fennel, lemon, pancetta and Barbera jus. (We're not drooling, you're drooling!)

As we all know, it’s not an Italian lunch without vino so you can rest easy knowing that all of your fave Italian beer and wine is included.

Now that’s amore!
