Three new cases of coronavirus have been recorded in Queensland overnight and two of the cases were at Pimpama (the other case was in Brisbane), which means the Gold Coast is getting new restrictions as of Saturday at 8 am.

As with Greater Brisbane, gatherings inside and outside people's homes will now be limited to 10 people, so if you had any parties planned at your place, you’ll have to cancel them, lest you're hankering for a fine.

"We know that people travel a lot from the Gold Coast to Brisbane so now it makes absolutely perfect sense to extend that," the Premier said.

The Premier also just announced the annual schoolies' celebrations on the Gold Coast will be cancelled this year (which may or may not be a blessing in disguise?), so you'll have to modify your plans around that as well.
