Gin And Jazz On The Rooftop

Who doesn’t love a little pre-weekend night out? We certainly do! Grab your crew and head to The Island Rooftop every Thursday from 6:30pm for an evening of soulful jazz music, we’re talking sax, keys, string and base to help you cruise into the weekend. Oh and of course there’s also excellent gin tipples and delicious noms on offer too. Thursday is totally the new Friday.

Unicorn Festival

From iced lattes and makeup palettes, to hair dye and inflatable pool toys—unicorn fever has literally swept the world and it appears, the Coast has caught the glittery, rainbow bug too because we’re getting our very own Unicorn Festival on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 October. Lasting all weekend long, there will be a unicorn pony ride, unicorn food (we’re talking cupcakes, fairy floss and gooey brownies), unicorn psychic readings, an arts and craft zone, beauty bar and market stalls.

Crafted Beer And Cider Festival

If you, like us, love nothing more than downing a cold one in the gorgeous GC sunshine then you’ll want to head to Crafted Beer & Cider Festival on 6 October. The one-day festival is a true celebration of that glorious amber liquid gold with a whopping 35 breweries on site including local faves Balter, Black Hops and Lost Palms Brewing Co. Is this the world’s easiest pub crawl or what? Not into beer? No worries, there’s also a range of thirst-quenching ciders on offer. And of course, no good brew can be enjoyed without some quality tucker, right? They’ve got you sorted there too with food trucks aplenty and sweet live music.

Twilight Night At Cornerstone

If there’s cheese, there’s us. And Cornerstone’s Twilight Night in Tugun is the best excuse we’ve come across to eat it by the wheel. Kick back with a cold one, a cutie and your picnic rug, all with catchy live music crooning in the background. Best of all, share boards and mezze plates are on the ready so your sunset session comes fully catered. This one’s happening from 4pm on Friday 5 October.

Unwind With Watercolour At The Borrowed Nursery

Picture this, you, your pals, cheese and wine and a night of art. If that sounds like your cup of tea, you’ll want to get a ticket quick smart to Artable’s latest watercolour class at uber cool The Borrowed Nursery. The BYO event (we suggest packing lots of wine and some sort of gourmet platter) on 16 October will see you lead through the basics of water colour by local artist Brittany Partington. You’ll come away with new skills, super relaxed and your own masterpiece. Cute!

Macramé At The Craft Parlour

If you consider yourself the creative type, why not check out The Craft Parlours awesome macramé workshop? Learn to knot and weave like a pro with Amy from Eden Eve Macrame. She’ll take you through the basics and will ensure you leave with your own plant hanger. Never tried something like this before? No worries, it’s absolutely perfect for beginners. Why not bring your pals along too and make a night of it? It’s going down on Monday 17 October from 6pm.

Champagne Degustation

Ok gang, this one might be a little heavier on the wallet, but trust us, you’re going to want to get a ticket to this seriously special event on 18 October. The good folk at our perennial fave Rick Shores are throwing the most epic champagne degustation—yep, you read that right. Heaven does exist. For your troubles you’ll get a delish five course sunset supper paired with Mumm (including some surprise sips not to be released to the public until 2019), sweet tunes and of course a fab evening with your pals. The dress code is champagne cocktail of course!

Cooking Demonstrations With Georgia Barnes

We don’t know about you guys but sometimes we need a little extra inspo when we step into the kitchen. Enter Masterchef alumni and nutritionist Georgia Barnes and her uber helpful masterclasses. Held every month until the end of the year, you’ll learn new tips and tricks in the kitchen, be inspired with new recipes, get to taste Georgia’s delish food and AND there’s a goodie bag. Win!

Outdoor Cinema At Burleigh Brewing Co.

Not content with simply serving up some of the Coast’s most epic brews, GC fave, Burleigh Brewing Co. is back with their outdoor cinema. That’s right people, beers and blockbusters all under the night sky #winning. So, throw back some of their ice-cold brews, a bucket of popcorn and relax in their deck chairs while watching a flick with your pals on 25 October. Sounds like the perfect Thursday to us!

Dinner En Blanc

Dry clean your whites, the world’s most famous (and Insta-worthy) picnic is back on 27 October! Perfect for a day out with your pals, Diner en Blanc will see hundreds of diners descend upon a secret-squirrel location, which is revealed only hours before the event. To uphold Diner en Blanc tradition, guests are asked to wear head-to-toe white attire with an elegant dress code. You’re also required to bring your own portable tables, white chairs, white table linens, tableware (no paper plates here!) and a gourmet meal. You’ll also have the option to pre-purchase a gourmet picnic and wine. What would we bring? #allofthecheese, naturally.

Night Of The Living Dead

Even if you’re not a HUGE fan of Halloween, we can guarantee you’ll enjoy this seriously spooky evening. Taking place in the Stingray Lounge at The QT from 7pm on 27 October you’ll snack on creepy canapes, blood shots, Halloween inspired cocktails (Bloody Sour anyone?) and dance the night away with a legit zombie on the decks. There’s even a prize for best dressed zombie.
