While we completely understand the current border closure decision, it doesn’t make it any easier knowing us Queenslanders are missing out on something this good. But, if you do live in NSW, then count yourself lucky, because you get to make the most of what we’re about to share.

One of our favourite Tweed wedding venues, Summergrove Estate has opened up their normally exclusive grounds to the public for lavish picnics. Find a seat in their vineyard, overlooking the stunning Tweed hinterland, and sip on their house drops while you graze through a decadent picnic platter, featuring handmade Australian cheeses, condiments and crackers.

Sprawl on the grass for a 1.5 hour sitting, Tuesday to Sunday, and soak in the stunning setting while catching up with your friends or lover. And if you really want to make the most of this incredible estate’s current open door policy, then as of next Monday 1 June, you can also book a short term stay in one of their romantic boutique villas (normally reserved for weddings), complete with a spa bath and double-sided wood fire. Picnic, vineyard stroll, luxury accommodation—sounds like the perfect post-iso getaway.

Both the picnics and the villas are being offered for a seriously limited time, so send out the word and get planning—because once weddings are back in full swing, this estate will only be open to brides, grooms and their party people.
