If there’s one thing we’re big fans of here at The Urban List, it’s local success stories and it doesn’t get much bigger and better than The Village Markets. This perennial fave has been promoting and supporting uber-talented GC creatives for a whopping 10 years, and to celebrate this momentous occasion, they’re throwing an epic bash.
For those who love the markets but don’t know their story, the business is the brainchild of former marketing execs and pals, Marissa Bowden and Sarah Schoeller, who founded TVM way back in 2008. The markets popularity has exploded over the last decade, providing a platform for over 2000 emerging labels including fashion, jewellery, homewares and musicians.
And to celebrate their landmark birthday a whole bunch of global designers (who founded their labels at TVM) will return to the Gold Coast for the big day.
International brands like Kivari, F+H Jewellery, Children of the Tribe, Mahiya and Kardashian family favourite Duke of London will join a premiere line up of boutique markets stalls, food trucks and musicians Mitch King, Tones and I and Lily Budiasa for the special celebration at Burleigh Heads State School on Sunday October 7.
The 10th birthday festivities will include more than 100 market stalls, creative workshops by The Craft Parlour and Whole Beings, a hair braid and glitter bar, a photo wall by Gather Store and a Good Vibes Lounge area by The Luxe Social.
So, grab your friends and join the party. We’ll see you there.
