There’s nothing we love more here on the Coast than embracing our roots. So when we found out GG’s Eatery & Bar was taking over the space left vacated by Goldie fave Grocer & Grind, we were stoked. And now that’d we’ve popped in for a visit, we’re even happier, because this place is pretty damn adorable.
Get your day started with moreish sweet potato toast topped with poached eggs, spinach, bacon and red pepper strawberry coulis. If a sweet brekky is more your thing, you can’t go past the pumpkin caramel waffles. We recommend washing it down with their signature charcoal latte.
They’ve got a variety of healthy and more robust lunch options on offer, including gluten free and vegetarian dishes. If you’re after an indulgence, try the mushroom pappardelle. For those more health conscious there’s a selection of healthy nourish bowls. At night they roll out a concise but impressive cocktail list and serve up mouth-watering thin-crust pizzas, octopus risotto and veal ragu just to name a few.
But our favourite part of GG’s – aside from the food of course - has to be their décor. Outside you’ll get serious Paris vibes with rows of green and white tables and chairs. Inside lush greenery hangs from the ceiling with bi-fold windows letting the light stream in, keeping it nice and fresh for the day time. While the dark wood floor, concrete and exposed brick walls make it moody at night. AKA it’s fab for a date!
