13 Awesome Things To Do In Melbourne This Weekend

Celebrate Day of the Dead in true Mexican style, taste your way through a history of American whiskey or indulge your inner vego with some food and brew festivals! There is heaps to do this weekend (thanks Melbs) and with the weather finally starting to warm up, its time to get out there!

Here are 13 awesome things to do in Melbourne this weekend:

All Weekend

The Art of Banksy

If you haven’t already checked it out the Banksy exhibition at Fed Square then you definitely need to (don’t stress though, you’ve still got a couple months). It's open every day from 11am to 8pm with tickets at $30 for an adult. The Circle Bar and the Railyard will also stay open until 11pm so you can stop in there afterwards! Vegan & Vegetarian Weekend

It just seems to be a weekend for all you vegan and vegetarians out there! This weekend the Food Truck Park are showcasing some of the best names in meat-free and plant-based street food. Some of the names include Jerry's Vegiburgers, Babou Juice and Vegilicious! The event is running Friday night, Saturday and Sunday. Melbourne High Tea

This weekend the Stamford Plaza are putting on a High Tea in the heart of Melbourne. From 2pm until 5pm you can indulge on an assortment of meticulously crafted savoury bites, fluffy homemade scones and traditional finger sandwiches. Tickets start at $65 (with a glass of Sparkling Wine thanks!) and you can grab yours here. If you can’t make it this weekend though, don’t stress. The Stamford are running their High Teas every weekend for the next couple of months!

Thursday 3rd

History of American Whiskey

Taste your way through the history of American Whiskey this Thursday night with Po Boy Quarter. With cocktails, traditional southern food and plenty of whiskey, the night is sure to be tasty, fun and informative to boot! The night runs from 7pm to 10pm with tickets starting at $63. Friday 4th

Kevin Saunderson at Glamorama

This Friday Glamorama will be presenting a very special musical guest. Kevin Saunderson will be supplying tunes all night long with some dance floor dominating techno beats! Plus if you can get in before 9pm, you will be treated to free entry. But don’t worry if you’re a bit late, its only $20 between 9pm and 11pm and then $25 after that. Check out all the info here. Saturday 5th

Celebrate Day of the Dead in True Mexican Style

If $10 Espolón Tequila cocktails, face painting and DJ beats are your vibe, you’ll want to check out Big Mouth Hotel’s Day of the Dead festivities this Saturday night. Gather your amigos, grab some tasty Mexican street food along with a margarita and enjoy the festivities!

Vegan Eats Brew & Food Fest

Street party? Yes please. Free entry? Even better! This Saturday Melbourne Vegan Eats are putting on their first annual Brew & Food Fest. The Fest will kick off at 11am with a fantastic lineup of vegan business putting out food and drink. With a lineup including Doughnut Time, the Hawthorn Brewing Company and Lord of the Fries, it’s sure to be a great day out for vegans and non-vegans alike! Casey Food and Wine Festival

We love a local food and wine fest and this weekend Casey are putting on their own at the Old Cheese Factory! The Casey Food and Wine Festival will feature a range of local and regional producers, wineries, breweries, cider houses, gourmet food, cheese and demonstrations from 11am to 4pm. Bohemian Paella Cooking Classes

The Bohemian Bar and Restaurant’s series of Paella cooking are back by popular demand this Saturday. Sunday 6th

Jamaican Music & Food Festival

Head down to Seaworks in Williamstown this Sunday for a solid eight hours of Jamaican music, food and culture. A massive lineup of live musicians and DJs will deliver a world-class dose of the best reggae, dancehall, ska, roots and dub across four stages. There will also be a huge selection of traditional Jamaican street vendors on site! Tickets are $25 for an adult and you can grab yours, and check out the full lineup, here.

Melbourne Design Market

This Sunday the Melbourne Design Market is setting up shop in the underground car park at Federation Square (how very Melbourne of them). Kicking off at 10am and running through to 4pm, the Market will bring you high quality products from emerging designers complete with music, food and of course, the very best coffee. Wild Food. Wild Beer

The Copper Pot Seddon are collaborating with La Sirene Brewery this Sunday to put on a very unique beer and food matching. The six-course meal with consist of wild and foraged ingredients matched with wild yeast fermented brews. Tickets are $120 per person and you can check out all the info here.
