Summerfolk By Burning House Theatre Company

Originally set in Russia in the lead up to the revolution, Burning House have taken this Maxim Gorky play and adapted it for a modern Australian audience. This bold interpretation of Summerfolk is limited to four shows only so make sure you book tickets fast!

Beneath The Wild Sky Exhibition By Jennifer MacDonald

A brand new photographic exhibition by Jennifer MacDonald, Beneath the Wild Sky documents the talented photographer’s time in Saskatchewan Canada, riding along with some of the Queen’s 300 government cowboys as they care for her 2.2 million acres of grasslands. If you’ve got some blank walls to fill in your home, all of Jennifer’s stunning works will be for sale.

Ice Hockey Tri-Game Series: New Zealand Ice Blacks vs. Melbourne

Head to The O’Brien Group Arena this Friday and Saturday to see the New Zealand Ice Blacks compete in back to back ice hockey games against the Melbourne Mustangs and Melbourne Ice. It’s sure to be a fierce battle, so book your tickets now.

AFL Round 1: Carlton vs. Richmond

After an absolute ripper AFLW season, we’re so excited for Carlton and Richmond to kick off round 1 of the AFL. Losing to Richmond in their last five battles, we’ll have to wait and see if Carlton can pull off a much-needed win.

Twilight Market Pop-Up

The lobby of Citadines on Bourke will be transformed into a beautiful twilight market, playing host to a huge range of stalls featuring handmade gems from Tinka The Label, Alma & Co, Cathy Sutton and Sketch Mill. Test out all the best fragrances from The Essentials Lab or overhaul your skincare with artisan soaps from Mineral Mud Soap.

Co-Ground Coffee Block Party

If you haven’t heard of Co-Ground Coffee yet, their official launch party might be the perfect opportunity to get acquainted. With 100% of their profits supporting education and livelihood projects in the Asia Pacific, this is one cafe we can really get behind. Special guests Stomping Ground Brewery and Vinomofo will be in attendance, along with music from Gold Street DJs, Motel Diablo, and the aptly named Flat Whites. The event is free but you must RSVP!

High Country Hops Festival

Join the Bridge Road Brewers in celebrating the 2017 Hop harvest at the 3rd annual High Country Hops Festival. Not only will there be brews from new kids on the block Social Bandit and Blizzard Brewery, this lovely little festival—hosted in the beautiful Old Coach House in Beechworth—boasts food from local producers Milawa Cheese and Gundowring Ice Cream, music from local Beechworth artist Liv Cartledge as well as a range of children’s activities. Burgess Family Butchers will be bringing their smoker, along with some of their finest local meats.

Culture Waves at Victoria’s Multicultural Festival

Head to Federation Square this Saturday and celebrate Cultural Diversity Week with a free concert featuring performances from rising hip hop sensation Remi, indie-pop artist Yeo, and gospel R&B masters Billy Davis and the Good Lords. Kicking off at 7pm, come check out how cultural diversity is influencing Victoria's local music scene.

Wales Street Primary School Fete

Pack up the family and head to the Wales Street Primary School Fete this Saturday for a fun-filled afternoon of mini golf, pony rides, face painting and live entertainment. All-day wristbands grant the kids access to over 10 rides to keep them entertained while you grab a drink from the bar and bid on some food hampers at the silent auction. A huge selection of food will be on offer, from Aussie barbeque to souvlaki, sushi and spanakopita, or just stick with the classics, like fairy floss and icy poles.

Sweeten up your Sunday with a delicious dessert degustation at The Baker’s Bench, South Yarra. Delight in perfectly moist cakes from the boutique Proof is in the Pudding bakery, served on 24 carat gold-plated Christina Re teaware because it’s important to be a little bit fancy every once in a while. Elwood Mexican Fiesta

We hope you’re listening amigos ‘cause we need to taco ‘bout the Elwood Mexican Fiesta. The Joinery Cafe is opening its outdoor area to host this mexcellent, all-day fiesta—serving authentic Mexican fare (and poke bowls, because why the hell not?) from 9am to 9pm. “Sounds pretty lame” said no Juan ever.

Run The Rock
