May is winding down, which means IT'S ALREADY JUNE PEOPLE. The weather's getting colder, mornings are getting tougher, and your weeknight social life is all about eating delicious (and above all, warm) things. To that end, we have a fancy shmancy week full of degustations, high teas and lotsa, lotsa wine. Treat yo' self.

Here are five awesome things to do in Melbourne this week.

Tuesday 30th May

MEAT ME AT DUTCHESS

This just in! Flinders St's Manhatten-inspired luxe restaurant-bar is launching a brand new steak night. Every Tuesday evening from 5pm you can sink your teeth into a 250g porterhouse with a side of fries and a choice of wine or Hawthorn Brewing Co. beer, all for just $25.

GIANT STEPS DINNER AT L’HOTEL GITAN

In the spirit of Aussie Wine Month, our favourite French gastropub is teaming up with Yarra Valley winemakers Giant Steps to host a very fancy dinner. ‘Best Fine Dining Restaurant in Fiji’ award-winner Jacques Reymond and 2016’s ‘Gourmet Traveler Winemaker of the Year’ Steve Flamsteed are going to serve you an exquisite four-course feast you will never forget. Not only will you be drinking Flamstead's own vintage wine, but he'll also be teaching you a thing or two about wine tasting.

Thursday 1st June

HIGH TEA AT COONARA SPRINGS

Stuck for lunch ideas on Thursday? We've got a scrumptious high tea in the Dandenongs. Coonara Springs Restaurant and Gardens are offering a special selection of fine teas, homemade pastries, cakes and finely sliced ribbon sandwiches (crusts cut off, naturally). If you’re up for a little sparkle in your life, you can also order a glass of premium local bubbles. Finish the day with a restorative wander through the gardens before heading home – absolutely no rush.

Cooking Class At Terindah Estate

Back for another year, Terindah Estate are launching the first of their Winter Cooking Class Series this week. The classes will span eight Friday nights in June, July and August, but this week's class is a real doozy: Low & Slow Comfort Food. Think soups, stews and hearty one-pot wonders. The class is run by Terindah's own expert chefs, and at the end of the night you get to sit down to a beautiful dinner party (with matching wines) and eat your creations. You even get recipe cards to take home. Sign us up, baby.
