5 Awesome Things To Do In Melbourne This Week

By Melanie Host - 20 Mar 2017

If you’ve been hiding in your bat cave all this while, it’s time to get out and stretch those wings. You’ll still be in your comfort zone (the dark) because almost every event this week has to do with actually being in darkness. But don’t worry, we’re not keeping you in the dark about the deets.

Here are 5 awesome things to do in Melbourne this week.

Monday 20 March

Get down and boogie your way to fitness with a unique glow in the dark dance-based workout. It’s time to let loose like no one’s watching, glow sticks in hand, as you shake off the Monday blues to hits from the 80s, 90s and today. If you’ve never tried one of these 45-minute dancing-in-the-dark sessions, you’ve got to at least once.

Where: 48 Fehon St, Yarraville
When: 7.30 – 8.30pm, 20 March

The successful sold out Flow After Dark silent yoga disco by Flow Athletic is stopping by in Melbourne for a night of relaxation. Throw on those glowing noise-cancellation headphones for a 90-minute vinyasa yoga session in the dark following instructor Kate Kendall. Flowing with beats by Sydney DJ James Mack, it’s the perfect way to chillax on a Tuesday night.

Finally! The long awaited premiere of Disney’s classic tale (as old as time) retold in a live action film has arrived. Gather the girls for the special advanced screening of the new Beauty and the Beast adaptation starring Emma Watson at HOYTS cinemas, or you could catch it with bae any day after.

As Melbourne is set to host the opening round of the championship this weekend, be sure to catch the first races of the season, enjoy the live music and stroll down M-Lane, where live street art installations are on display. Expect food trucks with loaded gourmet hotdogs, American-style burgers by Huxtaburger, Manny’s Doughnuts and many more. You can also race to the F1 fan zone and Melbourne Walk for autographs and selfies with the biggest names on the circuit. Then, challenge your mates and see how fast you can get around the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit on the race car simulator at the #AusGP.
