There’s An Alpaca Festival In Western Victoria This Weekend

By Ben Tyers - 16 Jun 2018

Yes, you read that right. 2018’s trendiest animal the Alpaca is getting a whole weekend festival dedicated to them—and it’s all just a 3 & ½ hour drive away from Melbourne.

AlpacaFest takes place at the Hamilton Showgrounds and is Western Vic’s premier Alpaca event, so you know it’s going to be good.

For some reason, alpaca’s have had a massive boost in popularity over the past couple of years, like I’ll admit they’re pretty cool, but probably not the most practical pet. Dog or a cat will do fine.

If you are thinking about getting one—if you’ve got the space—read up on Victoria’s regulations on Alpaca ownership here.

At AlpacaFest you’ll cop an eyeful of alpacas, along with an expo featuring alpaca products, and displays.
