Soak Up Summer At Melbourne’s Epic New Beach Pavilion This Coming Long Weekend

The Australia Day long weekend is almost upon us and we’re already planning all the best ways we can soak up that Melbourne sun and balmy weather. So when we heard Melbourne Racing Club was launching its first-ever Beach Pavilion at Caulfield Racecourse, we were all ears.

Emulating quintessential Australian beach clubs, this expansive precinct is complete with indoor, outdoor and sun-drenched deck areas, uninterrupted views from floor to ceiling of the home straight and Winning Post. Expect a modern exterior and a pastel, wood-happy interior that exudes a fresh and summer feel, perfect for the Australia Day Long Weekend.

Melbourne Racing Club will be teaming up with Elwood Bathers for a delicious collaboration, not to be missed. You can expect fresh and delicious seafood, (think salt and pepper calamari, chargrilled lobster, Dromana Bay mussels and locally caught fish of the day), mouth-watering steak sandwiches, a tantalising daily specials board featuring grilled scampi, crayfish, linguine vongole, scallop skewers, smoked salmon and the Sharing Bathers Box. Sure to be the culinary highlight of the day, these delicious boxes are complete with caviar and condiments, charred prawns, fish and chips, dusted squid and cray tails in garlic butter to keep you going all day.

You’ll also be able to sip on cold and refreshing cocktails thanks to the Gordon's Pink Gin Pop-Up Bar while basking in the sunshine out on the expansive deck. There will also be refreshing splash pools complete with sand to bring a touch of the beach beneath the feet. After a long day in heels? Yes, please.

There is officially no better spot to enjoy the 9-race card day with an epic set up, delicious feeds, mouth-watering cocktails and vibing live music. The Beach Pavilion will be around for the remainder of summer, so you can also check it out at C.F. Orr Stakes Family Day, Neds Blue Diamond Stakes Day and All-Star Mile.

The Club will be donating all gate admissions in full from the race meetings at Ladbrokes Mornington Race Day (Friday 24 January) and Australia Day Weekend Races at Caulfield (Saturday 25 January) to the Bendigo Bank Community Fund.
