We’re officially in our last two weeks of summer (sob), so it's not surprising that we're running around like a bunch of activity-crazed summer lovers, trying to make the most of what warm weather we've got left. Luckily there's still plenty to do.
On Saturday 25th of February, Caulfield Racecourse will play host to the ultimate summer finale—Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes Day. For the less initiated, this is the race day of the entire summer carnival and includes the richest and most coveted two-year-old race in Victoria, the $1.5M Group One Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes.
Champagne will be free flowing (Huzzah!) at the Veuve Clicquot Lawn, which is set to be the place to be away from the winner's circle. There will be a glamorous Air-Stream pop-up bar keeping you sufficiently hydrated. There will be plenty of grazing-style options on hand and the lawn offers race goers tip-top prime viewing of the home straight. You can get tickets to the Veuve Clicquot Lawn, AKA the ultimate summer racing experience, here.
Towards the end of the day, the entertainment will well and truly kick on, with Melbourne indie-rock favourites Kingswood taking to the stage to croon out some sweet tunes and get the crowd dancing.
If you’re more into the style stakes than the racing stakes, you’ll be tickled-pink—there are plenty of prizes on offer and the chance to grab your moment of fame in a full-blown photo shoot via the Style Stakes competition.
If you’re a fiend for a garden party, and deck chairs and Pimm’s jugs sound like your idea of heaven—then you’re in luck. The Pimm’s Garden Party is back with a pop-up bar, plenty of dining options and ample seating. It’s the perfect relaxed spot to soak up the summer racing atmosphere while enjoying a lawn game or two… bocce come at us!
