With 350 elegant inner-city apartments across 23 floors, urban living including retail, dining and an outdoor rooftop cinema, all set amongst some of the best food and drink Melbourne has to offer, it's time to loosen your belts and feast your eyes on Liberty One's delicious neighbours below.
Up In Smoke
Located on Hopkins Street, Up In Smoke is a casual eatery serving up the smokiest, sumptuous feeds going around.
Set up in an old mechanics workshop, the refurbished garage also features an outdoor beer garden, perfect for enjoying their ice cold craft beers and delicious cocktails. Sit back and relax with your mates and enjoy their delicious popcorn prawns and pork ribs
Make sure to squeeze in a visit to the Up In Smoke General Store before leaving for a soul-awakening cup of coffee, on-the-go lunches, BBQ supplies and even a bottle shop.
We’re a fan of many combos, but if we had to pick a favourite, burgers and arcade games would be pretty high on the list
Walking into 8Bit is a gamer’s dream, fitted with an arcade, pixelated mosaic tiling, bold primary colours and a menu which features the names of classic video games.
Boasting an epic line up of fried chicken, juicy beef and crumbed mushroom burgers, you'll be smacking your lips while you peruse the menu. Plus there’s an array of delicious hot dogs and more loaded fries than you can poke your greasy finger at.
Back Alley Sally’s
Living in Melbourne, a lot of the time a regular bar just won’t cut it.
Enter: an abandoned multi-level warehouse turned watering hole. Located above Footscray’s tastiest pizza joint, the sweet, sweet aroma of cheese and dough wafting upstairs is certainly welcomed. With a large central bar and unique decor featuring industrial elements, Back Alley Sally's is the perfect place to crack open a cold one.
The extensive drinks menu means you can enjoy up to 36 different beers, wine, all your favourite spirits and creative cocktails like the ‘Jaffa Martini’.
Slice Girls West
But what about that mouth-watering pizza joint we mentioned above?
Slice Girls West, is conveniently located downstairs from Back Alley Sally’s and is a go-to for epic pizza, so you'll be glad to know that the foodie tour includes some of their delicious creations. Handmade with quality ingredients from local producers, each slice is sure to have you drooling.
Our pick? Forever Mushroom. Made with mozzarella, button and field mushrooms, shaved parmesan, caramelised onion and drizzled with black truffle oil, it’s easy to see why this slice of heaven is high in demand.
You'll then make your way outside to a dog-friendly, open-air bar, serving mouth-watering sensations from the iconic Easey’s. Enough said. Lickety Split is the friendly neighbour to Back Alley Sally’s, and is the perfect spot for a drink and a feed on a sunny Melbourne day. Bring your pooch along, take in the relaxed atmosphere and gawk at some of Melbourne’s best burgers. We’re a sucker for the Grilled Chicken Bow Wow, complete with grilled chicken breast, slaw and lime aioli.
Harry And Larry's General Store
It's then time for foodie lovers to head next door to pay a visit to the west side’s one stop shop for all things fresh, delicious and gourmet.
Harry and Larry’s is an urban general store full of premium brands, healthy treats and exclusive products for the more discerning grocery shopper. We’re currently loving Rocco’s Pinterest-esque grazing boards and Misty’s Salted Caramel Sauce in a jar.
You’ll find it hard to stop at a few items, so make sure to bring a few reusable shopping bags.
As the name would suggest, these guys know a thing or two about beer. Brewing a selection of delicious, thirst-quenching beers, in their very own craft brewery, it's no wonder Hop Nation is an institution amongst West Sider's with everything from IPA to Pale Ale and even Pilsner.
Taking a load off and wash down all of Footscray's delicious food with an ice cold glass of Jedi Juice (for those playing at home, that's one of their Neipa brews).
