We’ll put this out there: we’re a sucker for artists’ markets. Strong latte in one hand, $20 in the other, you can have a lot of fun just browsing the racks, chatting to the makers and learning some tips.
For a long time, Rose St has been the only name that counts when it comes to Northside artist markets. But now we’re getting a new one, and it’s in Brunswick.
The Brunswick Artist Market will launch on 29 October in the old Bridie O’Reilly’s beer garden. There’s gonna be 30+ artist stalls, spruiking a range of prints, homemade jewellery, textiles and sculpture. Live music will be pumping throughout the day, and the guys from Co-Ground Coffee will be rocking the caffeine and BBQ. Kids and pooches more than welcome too.
It’s a new initiative for the guys at Co-Ground, a local NGO that supports education and livelihood programs in the Asia Pacific. They’ll be setting up their new bricks-and-mortar cafe inside the space, open Wed–Sun between 7am and 3pm. Special shout out to Five Senses (who are donating the coffee), La Marzocco (who donated the coffee machine) and Peregrine Projects, who stumped up the space itself. Much love all around.
Where: 29 Sydney Rd Brunswick
When: 9am – 4pm, Sunday 29 October
